Position Description

As part of its Business expansion, CLSA (UK) is seeking to hire an Assistant Risk Manager to join the local management team to support the risk management demand from both local business activities and the FCA. The Assistant Risk Manager is expected to work closely with internal parties such as UK Management (local team & COO), Front-Office (Sales & Trading), Compliance, Finance, Operations as well as our Central Risk Management Team located in Hong Kong. External parties include audits or regulatory bodies for ad-hoc queries and reporting or during periodic inspections.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • The candidate will report to EMEA Risk Manager locally

  • Perform regular risk reporting for both internal communication and regulatory requirements

  • Perform risk assessment for early risk identification of new business initiations and activities

  • Prepare on demand reports for risk monitoring and communicate with relevant parties for risk management relevant issues

  • Prepare risk limits review materials and committee materials for local management

  • Perform risk limits review based on the delegation from other teams within the risk management department

  • Maintenance and updating documentation of local risk policies and procedures

  • Work on risk related IT system and report enhancement projects

  • Perform ongoing data management activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree holder in Finance, Accounting, business, STEM or related disciplines

  • Minimum 2 years of prior experience within the financial services industry or risk

  • Willingness to have a professional career development in risk management

  • Basic computer skills in daily office applications (including Excel, SQL)

  • Good communication skills to liaise with stakeholders and general awareness of the market and business environment forma risk management point of view

  • Basic programming skills for increasing productivity and pervious work experience in Cash Equity, Future and Equity derivatives would be beneficial

  • Proven good knowledge of common financial products such as Cash Equity, Equity Derivatives and Future products

  • Attention to detail and good problem-solving skills

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills

  • Good command of written and spoken English

  • Second language would be beneficial
