What’s the role about?

As our Assistant Product Developer, you’ll support the Product Development team in driving innovative and commercially successful product across the Reiss collection. Working closely with Design, Buying, Technical and Merchandising teams, you’ll help manage sourcing, supplier relationships and product development from initial concept through to final production.

This role plays a key part in ensuring products are developed in line with the Reiss DNA, delivered on time through the critical path and aligned to margin and sustainability targets.

Who you are

  • Previous experience in a Product Development, Production or Buying support role within a fashion retail environment.
  • Strong understanding of the product development process and critical path management.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A confident communicator with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
  • Commercially aware, with an interest in fabrics, yarns, garment construction and sourcing.
  • Proactive and solutions-focused, with a genuine interest in sustainability and product innovation.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting the Product Developer in managing supplier relationships and maintaining an effective sourcing base across departments.
  • Assisting with seasonal supplier analysis, identifying opportunities within the supply base and supporting supplier progression plans.
  • Working closely with Design teams to support the development of fabrics, yarns and stitch techniques in line with seasonal direction.
  • Assisting with supplier negotiations and reviewing costing breakdowns to help achieve target margins without compromising product quality.
  • Managing sample development by sending development specs, chasing samples and ensuring all swatches and materials arrive on time for key meetings.
  • Maintaining sample trackers, material libraries and system updates to ensure all product information remains accurate and up to date.
  • Supporting critical path management by attending progress meetings, tracking actions and collaborating with Buying, Merchandising and Technical teams through to delivery.
  • Contributing to sustainability initiatives by supporting the development of more responsible materials, certifications and sourcing practices across the range.
