As Assistant to the People Director, Group and Global Functions, you’ll provide wide-ranging support to the People Director and the wider People Team. You’ll play an important part in keeping the team organised, connected and focused, helping everything run smoothly day to day.

This is a varied Team Assistant opportunity where you’ll manage diaries and emails, support projects and events, coordinate team administration and help improve the way we work. With flexible part-time hours and exposure to a broad range of people activities, it’s an opportunity to make a visible difference within a busy and collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

As Assistant to the People Director, you’ll:

  • Independently manage a complex diary, balancing competing requests and changing priorities from senior stakeholders.
  • Manage the People Director’s inbox, identifying urgent communications and making sure important actions are prioritised.
  • Coordinate meetings and support effective relationships with senior stakeholders, Executive Assistants and Personal Assistants.
  • Welcome external visitors to Angel Court when required and act as their first point of contact.
  • Provide administrative and coordination support to People Partners.
  • Track activities and follow up actions to help keep the People Partnering team organised and on schedule.
  • Support People processes, including changes to grades and salaries, Workday activities and reporting requests.
  • Review reports and data to provide practical support to the People Partnering team.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with care and discretion.
  • Look for ways to improve team organisation, efficiency and day-to-day ways of working.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll bring:

  • Experience of independently managing complex and fast-changing diaries.
  • Strong inbox management skills and the ability to recognise and prioritise urgent communications.
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills, with the judgement to make decisions independently.
  • A proactive approach and the confidence to take ownership without needing constant direction.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • The confidence to constructively challenge requests, agree realistic priorities and influence senior stakeholders.
  • The ability to build collaborative relationships with Executive Assistants and Personal Assistants supporting senior leaders.
  • High levels of confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Experience of administrative coordination in a busy environment.
  • The ability to analyse information and support basic reporting requests.
  • The flexibility to respond calmly and effectively when priorities change.
  • Previous experience supporting an HR or People function, handling sensitive people-related information or supporting data and reporting activities would be helpful, but isn’t essential.
