Role: Assistant Management Accountant
Location: Leeds, LS15 8GB We operate a hybrid schedule, meaning 2-3 days a week in the office.
Salary: £30,000 - £36,000 per annum DOE, plus extensive benefits

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week. Monday – Friday. We work on a core hours principle. Our core hours are 09:30 - 16:00; you can work around these to suit you!

As a key member of our Finance team, you will play a vital role in driving highly efficient credit and stock control processes across the business. Working closely with the Management Accountant and wider internal stakeholders, you will develop and maintain insightful reporting that supports effective decision‑making and provides clear analysis of stock movement.
You will take ownership of accurate and timely Management Accounts reporting, including the preparation of reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments, ensuring the financial integrity and reliability of our month‑end results.

What you’ll be doing?
· Manage stock control processes, ensuring accurate reconciliation and reporting of discrepancies, and verifying supplier invoice accuracy
· Complete detailed month‑end analysis, including accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations and P&L reviews
· Work closely with the Management Accountant to ensure all month‑end tasks are completed in line with the agreed timetable to support the timely production of the Management Accounts
· Prepare and review key financial reports to support effective financial oversight and decision‑making
· Provide financial information to stakeholders and assist with ad‑hoc financial and business projects as required
· Collaborate with the Management Accountant to drive process improvements, strengthen internal controls, and enhance efficiency while supporting the Commercial team and wider Finance function
Who are we looking for?
· Actively studying ACCA, CIMA or ACA, and relevant experience within a high‑accuracy, deadline‑driven finance environment
· Advanced Excel skills (including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and complex calculations) and proficiency across Microsoft Office
· Highly diligent and accurate, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to deliver high‑quality work to tight deadlines
· Communicates confidently and professionally with stakeholders at all levels across the business
· Commercially focused, with the ability to understand business drivers and support decision‑making through insightful analysis
· Demonstrated capability in driving process improvement, challenging existing ways of working, and implementing more efficient, scalable solutions
· Strong experience in Stock and Purchase Ledger processes, with the ability to maintain robust financial control
