Job Description

As an Assistant Buyer on menswear you will support in executing the product development, ensuring to maximise the sales and profitability, having a clear understanding of COS aesthetics and of our customer needs. You contribute to the best purchase by securing customer and brand requirements on orders with regards to time, price, quality and quantity. With a clear and efficient component and product development you contribute to meaningful growth and profitability within the department. You will support in developing the best assortment for our target customer. You work in collaboration with the Buying, Pattern, Design, Production, Material and Supply Chain team's. 

What you will do:

  • Be part of reviewing and analysing the departments product, assortment and selling, considering actions according to the business needs and present sales figures. 
  • Support to maximize the departments sales and profitability by maintaining timelines both before and after order replacement.
  • Monitor and react to how the departments customers are affected by trends and their surroundings
  • Drive the day-to-day organization within your team
  • Manage the post flow to and from recipients
  • Conduct regular analysis of our competitors and provide insights to your team, ensuring we offer our customers great value for money.
  • Communicate with the production office, follow up order placements and meet deadlines.
  • Support with driving the product development from start to end and in close collaboration with the buying team approach.
  • Prepare and assist fittings, organize agenda, provide samples at the right place, right time and right quantity.
  • Responsible for handling samples as well as overseeing and maintain the wardrobe, making sure all samples are kept neat and tidy
  • Raise orders, and order updates​. Maintaining responsibility for ensuring call-off, supplier and trailing quantity moves happen as required ​
  • Support to quantify all articles and products per region with the global strategy in mind.

  • Previous experience as an Assistant Buyer on menswear (woven beneficial) 
  • Product Development knowledge working with an in-house design team.
  • Strategic and analytical skills, proficient use of Excel
  • Strong team player with great communication skills.
  • Genuine passion for the COS brand and our customer needs.
  • Excellent organisational skills, ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines.
  • Good understanding of external trends and competitor activity
