Join us as we redefine how the world’s largest bank operates by harnessing the power of open source and frontier AI models. You’ll have the opportunity to shape the future of operational automation, working with talented teams to deliver impactful, end-to-end solutions. At JPMorganChase, you’ll drive innovation, foster a culture of excellence, and see your work make a tangible difference. If you’re passionate about technical leadership and want to influence the next generation of AI-driven operations, this is your chance to make your mark.

Job Summary:
As an Executive Director in the Applied Artificial Intelligence team within Corporate Investment Banking at JPMorganChase, you will lead a group of AI practitioners to build and deliver agentic automation capabilities. You will own both the development of shared applied AI capabilities and the end-to-end delivery of agentic solutions for priority Operations processes. You will set technical direction, partner with cross-functional teams, and ensure that AI-driven solutions are safely and effectively integrated into live operations. Your leadership will help shape the future of how we work and deliver value at scale.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Own and evolve shared applied AI capabilities, including agent authoring, orchestration patterns, evaluation, and the human-agent working surface, driving adoption across teams.
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of agentic solutions for priority Operations processes, from problem framing to production operation under governance.
  • Judge and maintain the balance between productizing durable shared capabilities and developing solution-specific surfaces.
  • Mentor and inspire a team of AI engineers and practitioners, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Set and uphold technical direction across agent orchestration, tool use, context assembly, human-in-the-loop design, and evaluation of non-deterministic behavior.
  • Align delivery across multiple partner streams, resolving dependencies and sequencing without escalation.
  • Build and sustain senior stakeholder confidence, translating technical constraints into business consequences and business intent into engineering requirements.
  • Define and instrument the evidence base for each solution, measuring agent autonomy and human involvement.
  • Drive best practices as a community leader and ensure AI practitioners stay current with the latest advances.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Hands-on experience building and shipping AI systems, not just managing teams.
  • Demonstrated experience with agentic systems in production, including orchestration, tool use, retrieval, context assembly, human-in-the-loop design, and evaluation of non-deterministic behavior.
  • Experience building and leading high-performing AI teams, including hiring, development, and performance management.
  • Proven track record of leading complex cross-functional delivery and aligning multiple teams to a common plan.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with credibility across senior business, technology, and control audiences.
  • Strong software engineering foundations, including service design, distributed patterns, and testing of non-deterministic systems.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, able to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to influence key decision makers with compelling technical arguments.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Experience in financial services or other regulated, high-volume, control-heavy environments.
  • Familiarity with policy-enforced execution, entitlements, and audit requirements for automated actions.
  • Significant contributions to open source projects or published work in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
  • Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline.
