We have an exciting opportunity for an Application Services Manager to join our IT team here at Harrods. In this role, you will be accountable and responsible of a suite of business applications ensuring our application portfolio delivers fit‑for‑purpose, high‑quality services that support business operations and drive process excellence.

About the Role

The Application Services Manager is responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, support, and continuous improvement of our business applications. You will manage day‑to‑day application support operations, collaborate closely with technical and business stakeholders, oversee third‑party vendors, and ensure all services meet agreed SLAs.

You will also lead Application Portfolio Management, define lifecycle stages and ensure applications remain aligned to business needs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Application roadmaps — Build and maintain application roadmaps and lead the application rationalisation programme.
  • Service performance review — Analyse incident and request trends, identify improvement opportunities, and influence vendor and support team focus.
  • Problem management — Lead the problem management process, ensuring issues are logged, root causes identified, and preventative actions implemented.
  • Vendor risk management — Identify and escalate vendor risks, drive mitigation plans, and ensure risks are addressed in future contracts.
  • Stakeholder engagement — Build strong relationships and coordinate effectively with vendors, developers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders.

About You

The ideal candidate will bring experience working with modern application methodologies, strong technical understanding of application management, and hands‑on experience with vendor management, including contract oversight, service governance, and continuous service improvement.

You will also have:

  • ITIL experience — Certification across Incident, Problem, Change, Release, Knowledge, and Request Fulfilment processes.
  • Enterprise application knowledge — Understanding of ERP, CRM, HRMS, Finance systems, and similar platforms.
  • APM familiarity — Experience with Application Portfolio Management and lifecycle management.
  • Vendor and application management — Previous experience managing applications and third‑party vendors.
