ROLE SUMMARY:

You will be instrumental in building and optimising applications using Retool. You will enhance our capabilities in developing internal tools and client-facing interfaces with speed and efficiency.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Collaborate with development teams and product managers to conceptualise software solutions using Retool.

  • Design and implement highly efficient user interfaces for internal and external applications.

  • Write robust JavaScript code to extend Retool's functionalities and integrate with third-party and internal APIs.

  • Ensure applications are responsive, performant, and scalable.

  • Engage in software testing to guarantee responsiveness and efficiency.

  • Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade applications to ensure high availability and reliability.

  • Create and maintain user documentation related to application configuration, design, and deployment strategies.

  • Constantly seek to improve applications by exploring new features and capabilities released by Retool.

  • ‍Responsible for building and maintaining a relationship with business collaborators and impacted users.

  • Proactively identifies, recommends, and implements improvements to the process as it relates to assigned projects.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
  • Proficiency in HTML is fundamental, as it is the backbone of web content, structuring the elements and layout of web pages.

  • Strong knowledge of CSS is critical for styling web pages, controlling typography, colors, and layouts, and ensuring a visually appealing design.

  • Mastery of JavaScript is crucial for adding interactivity, functionality, and dynamic features to web pages. This includes using libraries like jQuery and modern JavaScript frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.

  • Responsive Web design

  • Familiarity with CSS preprocessors like SASS or LESS enhances CSS maintainability and organization.

  • Proficiency in using version control systems like Git for code collaboration, tracking changes, and maintaining codebase integrity.

  • Experience with front end frameworks and libraries is often required, depending on the specific role.

  • Knowledge of techniques to optimize web page loading times, minimize HTTP requests and reduce resource sizes for improved performance.

  • Ensuring that web applications work consistently across different web browsers and platforms, with the ability to debug and address compatibility issues.

  • Familiarity Build Tools and Task Runners.

  • Integrating with various APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) to fetch and display data from external sources.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills are crucial for solving issues and finding efficient solutions in a dynamic web development environment.

  • Ability to handle own work and multitask to meet tight deadlines without losing sight of priorities under minimum supervision.

  • Highly motivated, self-directed individual with a positive & pro-active demeanor to work.

  • Customer and service focused, with determination to meet their needs and expectations.

  • Be driven and committed to the goals and objectives of the team and organization.

  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence.
