Job Description

Anticipated Contract End Date/Length: December 31, 2026
Work set up: Hybrid
Clearance required: BPSS

Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for an Apple SME to lead all aspects of macOS and iOS strategy, governance, and platform evolution within a large-scale transformation programme. This role focuses on modernising end user technology, improving platform resilience, and supporting complex carve out and integration scenarios. The position requires deep domain expertise, strong architectural thinking, and hands-on capability to guide both strategic decision-making and delivery execution across the Apple ecosystem.

What you will do:

  • Act as the primary subject matter expert for macOS, iOS, and iPadOS across the programme.
  • Define future-state Apple platform architecture aligned with enterprise frameworks and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive platform enhancements including security hardening, productivity enablement, and operational optimisation.
  • Lead architecture and design for Unified Endpoint Management and Mobile Device Management integrations.
  • Manage Apple Business Manager, zero-touch deployment workflows, and configuration baselines.
  • Oversee managed application lifecycle and update strategies across Apple devices.
  • Ensure seamless integration between Apple devices and enterprise infrastructure including network, identity, and security systems.
  • Support design and execution of Apple estate carve out and migration activities.
  • Develop migration frameworks, coexistence strategies, and risk-managed cutover plans.
  • Define data protection, backup, identity, and compliance models during transformation.
  • Ensure all Apple solutions meet security, audit, operational risk, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, risk, and governance teams to enforce best practices.
  • Implement device hardening, encryption, data loss prevention, and secure access controls.
  • Partner with enterprise architecture, engineering, programme delivery teams, and third-party vendors.
  • Provide technical assurance, contribute to documentation, and support solution design and dependency mapping.

Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with macOS and iOS enterprise configuration, including JAMF Pro or similar UEM and MDM platforms, Apple Business Manager, and zero-touch deployment.
  • Deep understanding of device security, OS lifecycle management, patching, and automation frameworks.
  • Proven experience operating as an SME or architect within large and complex organisations, ideally within financial services.
  • Demonstrated background in transformation, migration, or carve out programmes with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable platform designs.
  • Solid knowledge of security and compliance frameworks including encryption, device compliance, conditional access, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leadership in dynamic environments.
  • Familiarity with certifications such as JAMF, Apple Certified Support Professional, or TOGAF, along with experience in cross-platform integrations and regulated environments, is advantageous.
