Role Summary

The role is accountable for the development and delivery of the Product strategy, vision and objectives linked to the EQ Retirement Solutions Annuity Proposition. The role ensures that the Product roadmap aligns with Product objectives. 

Core Duties/Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Product leadership to set product strategy and vision and ensure alignment with Proposition objectives (where Proposition consists of a family of Products) 
  • Implement the vision into an ongoing product strategy and key goals to measure performance against 
  • Manage the entire product life cycle, from ideation to launch and post-launch maintenance. Drive, at a product level, the customer-centric experiences through the product cycle such as user research, UAT, user behaviour analysis 
  • Demonstrate deep customer understanding and defines and own customer segment strategy, market research, and competitor research 
  • Use both qualitative and quantitative research to assess the value of products and features in line with proposition priorities with a specific focus on commercials and product performance 
  • Drive continuous product discovery to understand user needs and translate those solutions and product backlog 
  • Drive product development; own the prioritisation and backlog management 
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with product development and launch 
  • Infuse a sense of ownership & pride amongst team members to deliver high-quality work outputs 
  • Institute a self-directed and high-performance culture in the team 
  • Manage various stakeholders, including Operations, Relationship teams, Business Development and Compliance, supporting their needs and balancing their priorities 
  • Enable a culture of continuous improvement and learning, by coaching team members and role-modelling self-development 

Skills, Capabilities and Attributes

  • Bachelors Degree

  • Experience in a Product role or working in a Product-centric organisation ideally with Enterprise-focused technology or outsourcing solutions 

  • Life & Pensions knowledge ideally with experience of Annuity Administration 

  • Proven experience of interfacing with cross-functional teams to drive product delivery
