The PositionAnalytics and Insights Specialist - Procurement and Market Intelligence

Location: Welwyn, United Kingdom

Roche has defined an exciting 10-year ambition plan, requiring us to adapt and transform to our evolving ecosystem and challenges ahead of us. If you are excited about driving this change and catalyzing the future in the areas of market intelligence and Procurement analytics, the Analytics and Insights Specialist role is for you.

What is Procurement Analytics and Insights

The Analytics and Insights team is dedicated to partnering within Global Procurement to bring internal and external insights and analyses. We strive to connect and work across GP to unlock the power of data and market signals to drive smarter sourcing decisions, value creation, and decision-making for procurement and our customers.

What is in it for you?

As an Analytics and Insights Specialist in Global Procurement, you will work in a dynamic global environment where you will bring structured thinking, external expertise, and strategic solution development to data and market insights. You will work closely with procurement, finance, and business customers to bring innovative analytics, advice and market intelligence solutions to our internal stakeholders.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Providing advice and know-how on data availability, visualization and market area insights to support core Procurement services.

  • Research Development: Developing and improving analytics deliverables while synthesizing complex market signals into clear, compelling narratives.

  • Strategic Influence: Advocating for data-driven decision-making and influencing strategic direction at both the category and portfolio levels.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engaging regularly with decision-makers to translate moderate complexity requirements into actionable analytical solutions.

Your Profile

You bring a combination of technical data proficiency and strategic market awareness.

  • Education: University degree in Business, Lifesciences or IT.

  • Experience: Experience within procurement, business analysis, or management consulting, ideally in a matrix organization.

  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated knowledge of BI Tools (ThoughtSpot would be advantageous but not essential)

  • Market Intelligence: Experience delivering strategies and market expertise across categories, including supplier relationship management and market scouting.

  • Analytical Translation: Ability to translate business problems into analytical solutions using data modeling and understanding how AI can be utilized within the procurement sphere.

  • Communication: Business level fluency in English with the confidence to present recommendations to senior stakeholders.

  • Life Sciences experience is highly advantageous.

Mindset and Behaviors

  • Enterprise Thinking: You leverage expertise to create solutions by proactively fostering collaboration across the procurement network.

  • Action-Oriented: You make decisions, influence others, and prefer repurposing work over starting from scratch.

  • Curiosity and Learning: You demonstrate active listening and a willingness to experiment with new ideas and technology.

  • Inclusive Collaboration: You are open-minded and generously share knowledge while being receptive to feedback from others.
