FP&A Analyst

London

Focus on what matters. Be brilliant at it.

Lloyd’s is the world’s leading insurance and reinsurance marketplace. We bring together leading risk specialists to share risk, solve complex problems and advance global progress.

We’re focused on strong underwriting performance, an efficient and flexible marketplace, and making the most of the Lloyd’s market’s capital advantage. And we’re continuing to build a Lloyd’s we can all be proud of.

As our FP&A Analyst, you’ll turn financial information into practical insight. Your work will help Finance and business leaders understand performance, make informed decisions and focus on the priorities that matter.

The role

You’ll support budgeting, forecasting, reporting and performance management across Lloyd’s Corporation. You’ll produce accurate analysis, explain the story behind the numbers and help colleagues act on what the data tells us.

Working within Central Finance and reporting to the Senior FP&A Manager, you’ll collaborate with stakeholders across Finance and the wider business. This is an opportunity to build your profile, sharpen your commercial understanding and influence important decisions.

What you’ll do
  • Support the annual budget, monthly forecasts and medium-term planning. You’ll maintain inputs, prepare analysis and help deliver high-quality outputs on time.
  • Analyse business activity, cost drivers and delivery plans to identify movements, risks and opportunities.
  • Produce clear performance reporting and commentary that explains variances, trends, assumptions and business drivers.
  • Help apply consistent planning principles, controls, timelines and standards across month-end, forecasting and budgeting.
  • Build trusted relationships across Finance and the wider business, helping stakeholders understand performance and priorities.
  • Support reporting for Finance leadership, the Executive Team and Lloyd’s Council. You’ll help identify key messages and issues requiring attention.
  • Use finance systems, data and standardised reporting to improve accuracy and reduce manual work.
  • Respond to questions from senior leaders, including topical analysis and focused deep dives.
  • Maintain strong controls and disciplined working practices that support reliable reporting and effective governance.

What you’ll bring

You don’t need to match every point. If this role interests you and your experience is broadly relevant, we’d like to hear from you.

  • Experience in FP&A, management accounting, financial analysis or finance business partnering, ideally within a complex organisation.
  • Practical experience supporting budgets, forecasts and performance reporting.
  • The ability to turn financial data into clear analysis and meaningful commentary.
  • Strong analytical skills, including identifying trends, testing assumptions and drawing evidence-based conclusions.
  • Confidence working with stakeholders, asking constructive questions and raising issues when needed.
  • Good organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Sound judgement and close attention to detail.
  • An understanding of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, management reporting and performance management.
  • A recognised accountancy qualification, such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or equivalent relevant experience.

Experience with expense management, workforce costs or cost-driver analysis would be useful. Familiarity with Anaplan, Workday Financials or Workday Adaptive would also be helpful, but neither is essential.

Knowledge of insurance, financial services or the Lloyd’s market may help you get started, but it isn’t required.

How you’ll work

How we deliver matters. You’ll contribute to an open, focused and responsible culture where people challenge established thinking, act with purpose and take ownership from analysis through to outcome.

You’ll bring our behaviours to life:

  • Take the risk: challenge assumptions, explore opportunities and make thoughtful, evidence-based recommendations.
  • Make it happen: bring energy to delivery, simplify where you can and find ways through obstacles.
  • Own the outcome: take responsibility for the quality of your work, follow decisions through and learn from experience.

Being inclusive at Lloyd’s is integral to how we work — and how we deliver impact.
We aim to build a diverse, inclusive environment that reflects the global markets we serve, where everyone is treated with dignity and respect and supported to reach their full potential.

We take the risk by challenging traditional thinking and being proactive about inclusion. That means being open and positive about workplace adjustments, prioritising health and wellbeing, and investing in diversity and inclusion training so everyone feels able to contribute and succeed.

We make things happen by turning our commitment into action. Through employee networks, mentoring, volunteering opportunities and sustained investment in professional development, we create an environment where inclusion is experienced day‑to‑day — not just talked about.

We own the outcome by focusing on impact. By bringing together diverse perspectives and the best minds in the industry, we work collaboratively with underwriters and brokers to create innovative, responsive solutions that share risk and solve complex problems across global markets.
