We have a great opportunity to join the UK Transaction Management (TM) as Analyst. This is a junior lending professional role within the front office.

The Transaction Management team is responsible for all aspects of new lending activity from structuring the transaction, undertaking due diligence and analysis, preparing credit papers and, post credit approval co-ordinating legal documentation and liaising with other departments to facilitate funding. As member of the specialised FI-Lending pillar you will have a primary focus on Insurance Sector finance transactions, but it is intended that you also get exposure to Funds Finance transactions and cover other financial sponsor driven financing requirements.

Main Duties and Responsibilities of Role:

  • Financial modelling with sensitivity analysis and validation of key assumptions;

  • Running internal models including risk ratings and loan pricing, and interfacing with risk management to establish the appropriate internal risk rating and risk appetite;

  • Supporting commercial approval processes (Greenlight committee);

  • Preparing and efficiently processing of credit approval packages and annual review including annexes and all requisite attachments;

  • Interfacing with loan operations and limit owners;

  • Ensuring compliance with internal policies;

  • The responsibility for deal closing including final CPs and obtaining the final loan documents;

  • Preparation of marketing materials;

  • Preparing business comparables and analysis of debt structures, performance metrics and debt pricing;

  • Performance monitoring of existing borrowers

  • Attending meetings and calls with clients including transaction-related due diligence;

Qualification/Education

Essential:     

  • University level education with a minimum 2:1 degree in a business-related subject e.g. Finance, Economics or a subject with a strong analytical component

Desirable:          

  • CFA

Experience/Knowledge

  • Previous workplace experience via either relevant industrial placement or summer internship or entry level position at a leading financial institution

  • Highly competent with Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel

  • Strong interest in financial analysis and understanding of financial statements/accounts.

  • Strong report writing skills

  • Evidence of being a team player plus ability to work independently to meet tight deadlines

  • Prior exposure to the Financial Institutions sector will be a benefit but not a key requirement
