About Pricing
Our Pricing team is a collaborative global team of pricing analysts and actuaries tasked with building a complete and consistent view of risk for reinsurance transactions across the organisation. We work closely with our underwriting teams to deliver accurate and insightful analysis alongside the development of loss estimates for individual transactions. From analysing large datasets to developing bespoke methodologies, we are responsible for handling a wide range of tasks with precision, expertise, and professionalism. Emphasizing teamwork, continuous learning, and innovation, we stay at the forefront of industry best practices to adapt to changing market dynamics.
About the Position
Reporting within the actuarial team based in London. We believe that meeting these requirements will position you for success in the role. Key Responsibilities
- Working very closely with actuaries and underwriters to perform the necessary qualitative and numerical analysis on Casualty deals, leading to underwriting recommendations
- Communicate pricing results effectively to underwriters and senior management
- Collaborate with the actuarial teams across the global casualty organisation and follow consistent pricing practices and approaches
- Compile, clean, and interrogate data from internal and external data sources
- Use RenaissanceRe pricing tools to help improve the selection and pricing of risks
- Assist on portfolio-wide and class-specific projects
- Contribute to the mission of the organization by implementing its operational plans and strategies and advocating for its corporate values and culture
Candidate Qualifications:
- A University degree with emphasis on mathematics, statistics, economics, finance or a similar field, with a minimum grade of 2.1
- Expectation of, or currently active in, studying towards professional actuarial qualifications such as FIA / FFA or FCAS
- Proficient knowledge of probability and statistics
- Strong computer skills desired, in particular MS Excel and PowerBI
- Programming knowledge desirable (e.g. R, Python, SQL, or VBA), with a focus on data manipulation and automation
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to different audiences
- Strong analytical skills; problem-solving through a numerical, structured, logical approach and an ability to work under pressure and to meet challenging deadlines
- An ability to solve complex issues with pragmatic solutions
- Challenges the status quo and identifies innovative solutions to solve problems and improve work process
