As the AI Transformation Lead, People you will...🚄

Lead the end to end delivery of AI transformation across the People function at Trainline.

You will be accountable for identifying high impact AI opportunities, designing and deploying solutions, and ensuring adoption and measurable outcomes. This is a hands on transformation role, not just defining strategy, but building and embedding AI enabled processes, tools and workflows into day to day People operations.

Acting as the bridge between People, Technology and Data, you will transform how work gets done across the employee lifecycle, leveraging AI, automation and agent based workflows to improve efficiency, enhance employee experience and unlock capacity for higher value work.

What you will be doing 💡

AI Strategy, Adoption and Opportunity Identification

  • Assess People processes, systems and workflows to identify high value AI opportunities

  • Define and deliver an outcome driven AI roadmap, focused on impact and speed to value

  • Partner with People leadership to build and prioritise a pipeline of AI use cases

  • Champion AI adoption across the People function and align with Trainline’s wider AI strategy

Solution Design, Build and Implementation

  • Design and deploy AI enabled solutions, including assistive tools, automation and insight driven capabilities

  • Implement AI agents and workflow orchestration to simplify and streamline processes

  • Integrate solutions across HR systems to create seamless end to end workflows

  • Work closely with Legal, Privacy and Security teams to ensure solutions are safe and compliant

Programme Delivery and Governance

  • Own delivery from discovery through to implementation and optimisation

  • Define clear success metrics and expected ROI

  • Ensure appropriate governance, documentation and oversight

  • Manage timelines, priorities and stakeholder alignment

Adoption, Change and Capability Building

  • Drive adoption and embed AI into day to day workflows

  • Build AI capability across the People team through training and enablement

  • Create playbooks and guidance so teams can continue to scale and evolve solutions

Process Transformation and Continuous Improvement

  • Redesign and simplify processes before applying automation

  • Build scalable, AI ready workflows that reduce manual effort and improve experience

  • Track and report on impact, including efficiency, adoption and service improvements

  • Continuously improve solutions based on data and feedback

  • Delivery of multiple high impact AI solutions with clear ROI

  • Strong adoption and regular usage across the People function

  • A clear and prioritised pipeline of AI opportunities

  • Delivery against a defined roadmap and milestones

  • Measurable improvements in efficiency, service delivery and employee experience

  • Lasting capability uplift within the People team

What we are looking for 🧠

  • Experience delivering AI, automation or digital transformation initiatives, ideally within People or HR

  • Hands on experience turning AI opportunities into practical solutions

  • Strong understanding of AI technologies such as generative AI, automation and agent based systems

  • Experience with AI tools such as OpenAI, Microsoft Copilot or similar platforms

  • Experience working with Engineering, Data or Product teams

  • Track record of delivering measurable business impact

Skills and Capabilities

  • Strong problem solving skills with a practical, hands on approach

  • Ability to take ideas through to implementation and optimisation

  • Confidence working with AI tools and experimenting to find solutions

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

  • Data driven mindset with the ability to measure and demonstrate impact

  • Curious, proactive and comfortable working with new technologies
