The AI Scientist Group at R&DS at IQVIA is a strategic team that helps pharmaceutical companies and related institutions in life sciences implement AIML solutions and realize transformational business opportunities. This is a team of AI scientists, consultants and engineers working step-by-step with customers to build bespoke solutions that harness the power of machine learning and Generative AI.

The team helps pharmaceutical customers imagine and scope the use cases that will create the greatest value for their businesses, select, train, and fine-tune the right models, define paths to navigate technical or business challenges, develop proof-of-concepts, and make plans for launching solutions at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fine-tune or distill LLMs for various use cases.
  • Transform raw unstructured/structured data into trainable datasets for LLM fine-tuning/distillation.
  • Design AI agents for IQVIA’s Agentic AI framework.
  • Create proof-of-concepts to showcase the potential of Generative AI technologies.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in Generative AI and machine learning, applying them to practical scenarios.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members.
  • Present and explain AI solutions to non-technical stakeholders in customer-facing roles.
  • Apply consulting principles to deliver tailored AI solutions that meet specific client needs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and work directly with pharmaceutical/life sciences institutions to address business needs with Generative AI applications.
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team to build and deploy scalable AI solutions.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Advanced degree PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Proven experience in fine-tining/distilling LLM.
  • Deep understanding with hands-on experience of SFT, DPO, PPO, reward modeling, etc. Having related publications in top AI conferences will be a plus.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, with hands-on experience in langchain/langgraph eco-system.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, Databricks) and deploying machine learning models at scale, including Azure OpenAI Services.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and critically.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Desire to work in a collaborative environment.
