What you will be doing 

You will be on a development journey to guide your growth into the role of AGGP2027 – Graduate Fluid Mechanical Design Engineer and can expect to be involved in the following:  

  • Supporting the design of new Fluid mechanical test rigs aimed at testing either the Landing Gear or Fuel Systems of Airbus' next aircraft programmes or supporting the continuous development of our existing aircraft families. 

  • The end to end life cycle of test rig development, from requirements capture to detailed design to manufacturing/integration and finally validation of the test rig.

  • You will utilise design tools such as CATIA V5 and work with a variety of technologies including fibre optics, vacuum systems, pitch/roll tables and instrumentation to measure pressure/flow/vibration/temperature.

  • You will learn about the end to end process for developing a test rig, gain insights into the Landing Gear System and Fuel System operation and understand how we can simulate the aircraft environment.

  • You will gain experience of working in a non-office environment which includes hazards such as Jet Fuel, Hydraulic Fluids, Hot and Cold surfaces, Noise and High Voltage.

  • As part of your rotational placements you will have the opportunity to see other areas of the System Integration test department which includes software development, avionic testing, flight test analysis, fluid mechanical testing and facility operations.

Your development journey will include a minimum of one rotational placement to support your growth into position.

At the end of the two year development programme you will have developed into the position of AGGP2027 – Graduate Fluid Mechanical Design Engineer!

What we are looking for

To be a successful applicant, you will need to demonstrate you have:

  • A degree level or equivalent within Fluid Mechanics, Mechanical or Aerospace engineering

  • Recently graduated or first professional experience in the field of Fluid Mechanical Design

  • Strong verbal and written communication in our business language (English)

  • A desire to work in a collaborative team environment, focused on driving future innovation

  • The ability to be self aware and a wish to be in the driving seat of your development.
