About the role

The Advice Manager is the delivery engine beneath the Head of Advice, turning Progeny's advice standards and advice proposition into consistent day-to-day practice across the adviser population. The role maintains the advice process, templates, and technical guidance advisers work to, tracks delivery of the ongoing advice service, and produces the MI on service, productivity, and capacity that the Head of Advice reports to senior leadership. The advice proposition is owned by the Director of Client Proposition and delivered by the Head of Advice; this role supports that delivery. Independent assurance of advice sits separately within Risk.
The role sits close to advisers as the first point of contact for advice process, documentation, and proposition queries, ensuring that what the Head of Advice sets as the standard is what advisers actually experience in their tools, templates, and guidance.

Key Areas of Focus

Advice Process and Standards Support

Maintaining the advice process, suitability report templates, and technical guidance that give effect to the firm's advice standards, keeping them current with regulatory and proposition change.

Ongoing Service Delivery

Tracking delivery of the ongoing advice service against each tier's commitments — review scheduling, completion, and service MI, and flagging early where delivery is falling behind.

Adviser Enablement and Capacity

Producing the MI on adviser productivity and capacity, supporting client allocation and book management, and removing process friction that keeps advisers from client-facing time.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintain the advice process documentation, suitability report templates, and technical guidance, keeping them current with regulatory and proposition change.
  • Act as first point of contact for advisers on advice process, documentation, and proposition queries, escalating technical matters to the Head of Advice.
  • Track delivery of the ongoing advice service against each tier's commitments, maintaining review scheduling and completion MI and flagging shortfalls early.
  • Produce the advice function's MI on service delivery, adviser productivity, and capacity for the Head of Advice's reporting to senior leadership and the Board.
  • Support client allocation and book management, maintaining the data used to balance adviser capacity across the firm.
  • Support the embedding of the client value, investment, and product propositions across advisers, including briefings and communications.
  • Translate agreed regulatory and proposition change into updated process, templates, and guidance, and coordinate roll-out to the adviser population.
  • Support the advice integration of acquired businesses, mapping acquired advice processes and client service arrangements onto the firm's advice standards and proposition.
  • Prepare advice-policy papers and supporting analysis for the Head of Advice's contributions to IOAPC.
  • Coordinate adviser onboarding into the firm's advice process and proposition, including the academy and trainee pipeline.
