The role

As an Ads (Associate) Product Manager, you will demonstrate advertising innovation across digital platforms, focusing on both display and branded content solutions. Reporting to the Head of Display and collaborating closely with the Branded Content Product Manager, you will own the strategy, development, and delivery of advertising products for FT Specialist titles. This outstanding opportunity allows you to align commercial goals with product development while using technology to improve advertising performance, campaign workflows, and client outcomes.

The candidate will excel in stakeholder management, strategy execution, and technical integration, ensuring that advertising across FT Specialist aligns with broader FT digital advertising strategies while maximising revenue opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement a comprehensive advertising strategy for display and branded content across FT Specialist titles in the UK and US.
  • Develop clear, quarterly roadmaps aligned with business objectives and goals.
  • Translate commercial goals into actionable product development initiatives.
  • Prioritise and manage tasks for advertising developers to ensure effective delivery.
  • Enhance branded content products by improving workflows from production to promotion.
  • Improve revenue opportunities, particularly addressing challenges like third-party cookie deprecation.
  • Collaborate with internal and external technology providers to optimise advertising technologies.
  • Partner with development teams in Sofia, NY, and London to develop cases and user requirements.
  • Manage relationships with advertising technology suppliers.
  • Partner with Business Intelligence and Data teams to drive data-informed improvements.
  • Continuously test and iterate on products to improve outcomes and identify growth opportunities.
  • Act as the bridge between commercial and product development teams.
  • Provide mentorship to ensure campaign setups align with strategic objectives.
  • Share standard methodologies to support global sales and operations teams.
  • Stay updated on trends in advertising and publishing technology to drive innovation.

Key skills

  • Prior experience in media or product management with expertise in advertising technology*.
  • Strong understanding of publishing and advertising technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement commercial product strategies.
  • Analytical approach with data proficiency (SQL skills are a plus).
  • Strong project management skills, with experience balancing multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills for both technical and business discussions.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and driving improvements.

*Candidates with less experience will be considered for the Associate Product Manager role.
