About this role

BlackRock is recruiting for a dynamic, committed early careers professional for an  Administrative position supporting our executive office. This position will be based in our NYC HQ and has an expectation of being in the office 5 days per week.


In this role you will partner closely with a core team of Administrative professionals, managing complex administrative and business support needs. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent anticipation and problem-solving skills who has high accountability, strong communication skills and a commitment to operational excellence.


Your responsibilities

  • Follow and support clearly defined procedures and processes related to the executive office.
  • Demonstrating thoughtful management of leader’s time against priorities and ensuring preparation for meetings.
  • Coordinating business travel with awareness of potential conflicts; processing the relevant expenses in line with company policy.
  • Taking ownership of key deliverables and structuring work to achieve goals, seeing the big picture and understanding the long-term impacts.
  • Exhibiting a strong attention to detail in coordination and communication of logistics.
  • Maintaining and leveraging a broad network of contacts; effectively communicate and partner with internal stakeholders to achieve goals; serve as key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Taking ownership of BlackRock’s technology capabilities, policies, and procedures as they relate to the administrative and executive roles.
  • Managing and supporting ad hoc projects and initiatives as needed.
  • Understanding the rhythm of business of the executive office/team, adjusting scheduling according to business priorities.
  • Support large meetings, townhall events and offsites, managing all planning details and coordination.
  • Partnering with the Chief of Staffs to various leaders across the firm.

Skills & behaviors

  • A minimum of 1-3 years of related administrative experience.
  • The ability to exercise discretion and independent judgement, comfortable operating with ambiguity.
  • The ability to make decisions and act quickly when information is limited; can assess the criticality of potential risks, prioritize and escalate appropriately.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), active listening skills and the ability to recognize different views to help build consensus.
  • A deep understanding of big picture goals and how to prioritize effectively to achieve them.
  • The desire to gain a deeper understanding of technology and processes and the ability to educate others.
For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$76,000.00 - USD$145,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

Our hybrid work model

BlackRock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. Some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities.
