Key Responsibilities
Accounts payable & receivable
- Process and verify supplier invoices, credit notes and expense claims accurately and on time
- Follow up on outstanding customer invoices and support the collections process
- Reconcile AP/AR ledgers and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
General ledger & month-end
- Post journal entries and assist with monthly closing activities
- Prepare bank reconciliations and ensure all transactions are correctly recorded
- Support the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports
Administration & compliance
- Maintain accurate and well-organized financial records and filing
- Support VAT declarations, statutory filings and audit preparation
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth financial operations
What you bring to the table:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent. 0-2 years of relevant experience (internship or first job welcome).
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Proficient in Excel; experience with an ERP system (e.g. NetSuite, SAP, Exact) is a plus. Accurate, structured and able to meet deadlines.
- Fluent in English; Dutch or another European language is an asset.
- AI-savvy: you don't wait to be told - you explore, experiment, and share what works with your team.
- Based in Belgium, with ability to work hybrid from our Ghent office - 2/3 days in the office is required.
