About this role: 

As an Executive at Ogilvy, you are learning the core skills of managing and making that will form the basis of your future career. You will partner daily with account managers and account leaders to learn about the agency business (operational and delivery excellence, efficiency and speed to market) as well as the client’s business and competitor context. You will also have responsibility on the account retainers and projects with the support of more experienced colleagues. 

As an experienced Executive on the Consumer PR team -working across Google’s consumer and corporate communications - you will be responsible for creating media materials, developing relationships with journalists in order to secure coverage in the national, business,technology, consumer lifestyle and B2B press, as well as helping deliver campaign work including liaising with talent/influencers and planning and managing events. 

You will also share responsibility for daily media monitoring and reporting duties. You will bring a can-do attitude combined with a strong desire to learn and grow, and your passion for the work shines through. You will exhibit strong potential to develop relationships with clients and colleagues based on mutual respect and partnership.  

Key requirements:

● 1-2+ years of PR experience, ideally within the consumer or B2B tech sector

● An interest in consumer tech or corpsumer PR, with the role spanning both consumer and corporate responsibilities

● Media relations experience, ideally with a network of relevant journalists across the technology and lifestyle press

● Strong copywriting skills

● Experience with reporting processes and daily media monitoring

● The ability to work in a fast-paced environment

 

Key responsibilities:

● Building strong collaborative relationships with clients 

● Providing administrative support, including status reports, meeting scheduling, budget tracking, competitor reviews  

● Responsibility for daily media monitoring and reporting, in a client-facing role, ensuring daily reports are delivered on-time and to a consistently high standard

● Creating written client and external-facing materials eg. media pitches, briefing notes, media audits, media lists

● Developing relationships with key media contacts at the national, broadcast, business and consumer press to pitch and secure coverage and deliver on client objectives

● Helping manage a fast-paced press inbox and fielding inbound media inquiries

● Providing support for event planning and delivery as part of campaigns

● Attending client calls and maintaining constant contact with clients via email and phone to ensure all work is delivered on time, to a high standard

● Working with and learning about the agency Capabilities – CE, PR, Advertising, Social and Influence, Consulting and B2B 

● Managing projects and supporting more senior colleagues on larger projects  

● Basic analyses of client’s business results and competitive landscapes  

● Working to anticipate upcoming needs and hurdles and providing ideas to mitigate 

● Assisting with the onboarding of new team members 

● Establishing and building relationships internally with other megabusinesses as well as with colleagues in Strategy, Programme Management, Creative, etc.
