We Are Sparta
Sparta is the next-generation commodity trading platform.
We give trading desks the clarity, control, and collaboration they need to move faster and trade smarter.
In February 2025, we secured $42 million in Series B funding. Now we’re scaling up across the business, and it’s an exciting time to join.

Our people are the driving force behind everything we do. At Sparta, you’ll be trusted to take ownership, backed by a team who wants you to succeed. You’ll be challenged, supported, and given room to grow. Because building something this ambitious takes everyone at their best.

At Sparta, your work has reach. From improving our platform, to powering smarter decisions for our customers, to changing how commodity trading is done around the world.

And because we’re growing fast, you won’t just build your career. You’ll accelerate it, with a level of ownership and impact you simply don’t get at bigger, more bureaucratic companies.

The role

This is a new-logo hunter role. Based in London or Geneva, you’ll own new business across a European territory building pipeline from scratch, getting in front of trading desks in person, and closing complex, multi-product deals. You’ll sell to C-suite and VP-level buyers while winning over the traders, analysts and risk managers who’ll use the product and know their market cold. You’ll have an SDR, pre-sales and Customer Success behind you, and a European team growing quickly around you.

What You’ll Do

New Business

• This is a new client acquisition sales role, requiring you to research opportunities, initiate discussions, build prospect relationships, conduct demos, manage product trials, and close sales.

• Develop a pipeline of high-value opportunities through networking, events, and in-person interactions with energy commodity traders and decision-makers.

• Sell to C-suite, VP-level, and trading desks, articulating a clear business case and ROI for our SaaS solutions.

Enterprise Sales Execution

• Lead a virtual account team, coordinating with internal resources (pre-sales, customer success, marketing) to drive deals forward.

• Use value-selling methodologies (MEDDPICC, Challenger, SPIN) to align solutions with customer pain points and strategic initiatives.

• Structure and negotiate complex, multi-product deals tailored to customer needs.

Forecasting & Pipeline Management

• Maintain accurate sales forecasts, using HubSpot and sales analytics tools to manage deal progression and pipeline health.
• Track sales KPIs and continually refine sales tactics to optimise conversion rates and shorten deal cycles.

Who You Are

• 5+ years of enterprise B2B SaaS sales experience, selling into financial services, commodities, or energy markets.

• Proven track record of hunting and closing complex, high-value deals, and hitting six- or seven-figure annual revenue targets.

• Able to build pipeline across a set territory from scratch identifying the right opportunities, getting access to senior decision-makers, and building the internal advocacy that enterprise deals need.

• Comfortable running product demonstrations and navigating long sales cycles with multiple business and technical stakeholders.

• Strong knowledge of value-based selling frameworks (MEDDPICC, Challenger, SPIN) and able to run a consultative sales motion.

• Experience orchestrating a cross-functional virtual team – pre-sales, customer success, marketing and exec sponsors.

• Based in London or Geneva, in the office 3-4 days a week, and happy to travel frequently for customer meetings and industry events. This is a face-to-face, relationship-driven role.

Nice to haves

• Prior exposure to energy and commodity markets.

• Experience selling financial data platforms, analytics software, or SaaS solutions directly to traders, analysts, quants or risk managers.

• Experience selling for a scale-up or challenger brand, where the name doesn’t open the door for you.

• Familiarity with HubSpot and Claude.

• An additional European language.
