🏆 🎉 🏆 We're proud to announce we've won Advice firm of the year at the Money Marketing Awards 🏆 🎉 🏆

This is a rare opportunity to join a fast-growing, mission-led business that's transforming how people access financial advice. We partner with HR and Reward teams to bring financial wellbeing into the workplace, helping employees feel more confident, secure and in control of their financial futures. You'll be at the heart of our growth journey, working with progressive, people-focused businesses who want to do better by their employees. You'll sell a product that genuinely improves lives, and you'll be surrounded by a team that moves fast, thinks sharply, and cares deeply about the mission.

About Octopus Money

At Octopus Money, we're on a mission to make money advice accessible to all, because the right advice can turn your life dreams into reality.

The facts are alarming: half of Brits reach retirement age without enough money to live the life they want, financial stress is a leading cause of poor mental health and only 8% of us have access to 1-to-1 advice.

There's plenty of information out there, but most of us just wish that someone we trust would tell us what to do with our money.

With Octopus Money, you get a personalised plan and a friendly expert to help you make it happen. We combine advisers, coaches and technology to understand your situation and recommend the right steps for your savings, investments, pensions and more.

To transform millions of lives, we need a movement. So whether you're a workplace supporting your employees' financial health or a firm that wants to offer affordable advice to your customers, we hope you'll join us.

We believe everyone deserves personal, 1-to-1 advice with their money.

The role and opportunity

You'll be responsible for driving new business across the UK, managing the end-to-end sales process, and building trusted relationships with HR and Reward leaders. This isn't just another sales role, it's a chance to be part of something that genuinely matters and to play a key role in building a category-defining business.

We believe you should have access to every size of opportunity, big or small. Bring the value, and you get a slice of it, every single time. You'll thrive here if you back your gut, adapt fast, and are used to working without a playbook. As an early-stage business, you'll wear many hats - outreach, multi-threading, hosting events, shaping the sales narrative, negotiating contracts, and working with tech and ops to solve for the customer.

Day to day you will
  • Own the full sales cycle from initial outreach to close
  • Research, plan, and collaborate with the SDR and marketing team to create outreach campaigns for target accounts across financial services, professional services, legal, recruitment, media, and tech
  • Lead discovery conversations that challenge and educate HR and Reward teams
  • Tailor our value proposition to specific client needs and sectors
  • Build a tailored business case connecting our solution to the business objectives
  • Build and nurture a high-quality pipeline of opportunities
  • Consistently hit and exceed revenue targets
  • Lead and coordinate internal resources, including SDR, operations, and launch/success teams, to ensure seamless deal delivery
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to identify new business opportunities
  • Participate in client-facing activities such as dinners, breakfasts, and industry events to strengthen relationships and drive engagement
  • Feed insights back to the product team based on client needs and market demand
About you
A genuine desire to help people

You're driven by your targets and the company's OKRs, but you care just as much about doing right by the customer.

Sharp and quick on your feet

You read a room fast, trust your gut, and find creative ways to stand out and figure things out without a script.

Earns trust

You know when to challenge your prospect's thinking and push back when it matters. You know when a "no" from you builds more trust than a "yes."

Own your destiny

You take full responsibility for your number, and you'll roll up your sleeves to hit it.

Move with urgency and focus

You take initiative, prioritise ruthlessly, and pivot fast when the plan changes.

Build relationships that stick

You earn trust with senior stakeholders through credibility, insight, and always having their best interest at heart.

Tell stories that captivate

You bring a proposition to life and hold the attention of busy decision-makers.

Necessary requirements
  • Proven track record in a closing sales role, ideally in a startup or scrappy, fast-moving environment
  • Comfortable diagnosing a problem before pitching a solution, rather than running a fixed script
  • Comfortable working in ambiguity, building process as you go rather than following an established playbook
  • Confident thinking on your feet and adapting your approach mid-conversation or mid-deal
  • A relentless, high-urgency approach to your work, with the judgement to know what matters most
  • Sharp instincts with people, you read situations quickly and adjust your approach accordingly

Some of these traits can't be taught. If you've got them, we'll teach you the rest.

Nice to have (but not necessary)
  • Experience selling into multi-stakeholder sales cycles
  • Experience selling to HR buyers in the workplace
  • A track record of being a top performer (president's club, #1 rep, similar) rather than just tenure in a role
  • Experience selling a category-creating or newer product, where you're educating the market rather than responding to existing demand

We want people to grow here, to feel supported and to feel proud of the impact they make!

You’ll get:

  • 18 days a year working from anywhere (for non regulated roles)
  • Bonus for non-commission based roles
  • Company pension
  • Private medical insurance
  • Enhanced parental leave
  • Birthday day off
  • A supportive team who care about what they do
  • The chance to help people improve their lives

Please note, as a regulated business we are required to run background checks for all employees which covers adverse financial and unspent convictions. These will only take place upon a successful job offer.

What you need to know about the London Tech Scene

London isn't just a hub for established businesses; it's also a nursery for innovation. Boasting one of the most recognized fintech ecosystems in Europe, attracting billions in investments each year, London's success has made it a go-to destination for startups looking to make their mark. Top U.K. companies like Hoptin, Moneybox and Marshmallow have already made the city their base — yet fintech is just the beginning. From healthtech to renewable energy to cybersecurity and beyond, the city's startups are breaking new ground across a range of industries.
