ROLE OVERVIEW
An Account Director leads and develops client relationships, client strategy and team members to ensure  
quality output, efficiency and profitability. They are an experienced people manager with a relentless desire for developing a high-performing team who deliver excellence on brief, on budget and on time. They have excellent communication skills and forensic attention to detail. 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Services and advisory
  • Build strong, trusted relationships across all client levels, inspiring them through strategic and creative thinking.
  • Drive long-term client planning and growth in partnership with the Client Director and wider management team, including the development and activation of account plans.
  • Identify opportunities for expansion and growth, and assemble the right agency members to address those opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a deep knowledge of client markets, industries and competitors and operationalise that knowledge across all aspects of your work – internal and external briefings and presentations, briefs and growth engagements.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the Marketbridge solutions and services and be able to clearly articulate the value and relevance to our clients.
  • Lead the strategic development of accounts and challenge creative solutions from pitch through delivery and impact.
  • Ensure best practice standards are consistently followed across all client work.
  • Identify market developments and industry trends to create opportunities for clients and the agency.
  • Review all work before client presentation to ensure it is on brief strategically and creatively and meets our exceptionally high standards.
  • Proactively participate in strategic planning and commercial performance reviews.
  • Maintain and develop extensive knowledge of marketing channels, trends, technologies and tools.
People
  • Manage their team to ensure the highest levels of client experience are delivered, considering relationships, capabilities, skills, and team composition.
  • Develop and proactively manage personal development plans for direct team members, and oversee those managed by your direct team members.
  • Ensure the team is enabled and supported to reach its potential through active learning about the Marketbridge offer, marketing trends, client industries and competitors.
  • Embrace and deploy a coaching style to support the Client Director in the creation of a high-performing team.
Financial Management
  • Be responsible for the financial performance of your accounts, leading forecasting, budget management, fee negotiation and invoicing processes.
  • Proactively manage the expectations of the Client Director to ensure they are informed about the financial performance and opportunities.

  • Able to prioritise conflicting responsibilities and manage workloads for self and others.
  • Curious, strategic thinker with ability to communicate strategic recommendations succinctly.
  • Strong creative judgment and ability to pool resources effectively.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to maintain margin through effective forecasting.
  • Calm under pressure in fast‑paced environments.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Ability to influence, motivate and enthuse others.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to adapt quickly to change.
  • Able to build strong partnerships with clients and internal teams.

  • Experience working within a fully integrated B2B marketing agency.
  • Experience planning and selling Pan‑European marketing communication strategies.

We aim to offer competitive and fair compensation based on experience, location, and market benchmarks. The salary range for this role is £51,000-£60,000
