Support safety, quality, and assurance across waste management operations through site visits, audits, engagement activities, and improvement-plan monitoring. Advise operational teams on industry best practices, identify improvements, influence stakeholders, and liaise with managers, clients, regulators, and customers. The role covers municipal collections, street cleaning, waste transfer stations, fleet workshops, and an integrated waste management facility.

The HWRC Operative advises the public on correct waste disposal, enforces site rules, manages site traffic, checks resident identification and permits, maintains cleanliness and health and safety standards, and sorts or moves waste streams as required. The role also involves reporting rule violations and operational issues to management, providing clear customer guidance, and responding to additional management requests.

Supervise daily fleet and site operations, ensuring staffing, resources, safety, compliance, quality, and operational targets are achieved. Conduct inspections, monitor permits and work standards, manage visitor and contractor safety, report incidents and close calls, and promote a proactive safety culture. Train and monitor team members, support people management, and coordinate with the wider management team.
