Leads Value Analysis and Value Engineering activities across security and detection products. Facilitates functional analysis workshops, applies design-to-cost and target-costing methods, influences product architecture, conducts benchmarking and reverse engineering, and develops value-improvement business cases. The role partners with engineering and supplier teams to reduce lifecycle costs while maintaining safety, performance, quality, serviceability, and compliance. It also coaches teams in VAVE methodologies and supports NPI, make-versus-buy, and technology-selection decisions.

Supports an enterprise transformation programme by tracking milestones, risks, issues, actions, dependencies, benefits and financial performance. Maintains programme plans, dashboards, reporting packs, governance documentation and SharePoint repositories. Coordinates steering meetings and workshops, follows up with stakeholders, identifies data quality and delivery risks, and provides accurate updates to senior leaders. The role requires strong organisation, stakeholder management, reporting, analysis and programme-controls expertise.

Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for low-power microcontrollers and Linux-based detection systems. Lead technical investigations, define requirements and interfaces, contribute to architecture, perform testing and code reviews, and collaborate across hardware and systems teams. Own software work packages, support Agile delivery, improve engineering practices, and mentor junior engineers. The role focuses on mission-critical chemical and explosive trace detection technology.
