Monitor and protect secure digital environments in a 24/7 SOC. Responsibilities include leading shifts, overseeing junior analysts, detecting and responding to security incidents, escalating complex cases, reviewing vulnerabilities and secure configurations, maintaining security controls, producing reports, and recommending service improvements. The role requires knowledge of incident and vulnerability management, cloud computing, information security, identity and access management, security risks, and common cyber threats.

Work with engineers, architects, and delivery teams to gather and document functional and non-functional requirements, design secure platforms, apply industry methodologies, use data analytics to inform decisions, liaise between IT and stakeholders, mentor junior staff, and support delivery of mission-critical digital solutions in highly secure defence environments.

Provide 1st/2nd line support for secure environments: respond to tickets and alerts, perform end-user and remote desk-side support, manage device provisioning, document incident resolutions, escalate complex issues, and communicate incidents and maintenance to user communities. Occasional travel to remote sites may be required.

Manage and develop a large platform engineering team: line management, career development, resourcing, recruitment, capacity planning, and operational oversight. Coordinate with Principal Platform Architect, operations and project managers to align skills to priorities, ensure delivery excellence, secure funding for tools, and communicate resource risks and constraints across stakeholders in a secure defence-focused environment.

Design, build, and operate secure platform infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines using IaC and automation. Deliver, upgrade and harden core platforms, create architecture/design artefacts and proofs‑of‑concept, mentor junior engineers, and ensure security, compliance and operational readiness in highly secure environments.

Ensure quality, reliability, and security of physical and IaC-based infrastructure by analysing requirements, designing test strategies, provisioning and validating environments, executing functional/integration/regression/resilience/security tests, managing defects, and supporting accreditation, assurance, and compliance activities.

Lead account and business growth activities within Defence (MOD) accounts: identify and convert opportunities, engage stakeholders, maintain trusted relationships, support leadership and delivery, and drive innovation and profitable growth for the business.

Design, build, secure and maintain multi-classification virtualised, public/private/hybrid cloud and network infrastructure. Support monitoring, patching, incident triage, automation, DevSecOps tooling, and advise project teams while maintaining security standards and delivering operational support in protected environments.

Design, build, maintain and secure multi-classification virtualised and cloud infrastructures. Support public/private/hybrid cloud systems, monitoring, patching, incident triage, tooling (Elastic, Nessus), Kubernetes, VMware, Terraform/HashiCorp Vault, and advise project teams while developing secure-by-design capabilities.

Design, build and deliver secure DevSecOps solutions for defence environments. Translate security standards into automated code, develop UI and cloud/container workloads, implement CI/CD, automate orchestration, participate in code reviews, and support Apps, Platform and Workload pillars while following secure engineering best practices.

Lead and grow an MoD-focused account: develop business and go-to-market strategy, engage MOD stakeholders, identify growth opportunities, maintain client relationships, drive capability development, and lead a high-performing account team while supporting BD and commercial activities.

Designs, deploys, and documents secure digital solutions for defence and national security environments. Responsibilities include managing vulnerabilities, configuring SIEM and EDR tools, hardening information systems, integrating security testing into CI/CD pipelines, managing identity and access solutions, developing SOC playbooks, and supporting secure-by-design delivery using Agile and DevSecOps practices.

Manage ongoing security and compliance for internal infrastructure: perform cyber risk assessments, develop security policies and documentation, ensure system designs meet security outcomes, produce evidence for MOD regulations, advise project teams, and report cyber risks and compliance status to senior management.

Lead development and maintenance of information security, risk management, and compliance frameworks. Oversee incident response, vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, audits, and assurance reporting. Ensure alignment with standards (ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, JSPs), GDPR compliance, governance, stakeholder engagement, training, and business continuity. Manage security resources and support secure-by-design throughout system lifecycles.

Design, build, and maintain secure infrastructure and tooling for mission-critical environments. Deploy and manage Kubernetes-based platforms, SIEM (Splunk), vulnerability scanning (Nessus), EDR and observability (fluentbit). Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines, automate security processes with scripting/IaC, document configurations, and collaborate with engineering and DevOps to embed DevSecOps practices and threat detection.

Design and deliver secure digital solutions for defence clients. Perform cyber risk assessments, produce risk treatment plans, support compliance and assurance activities, create security documentation, and liaise with MOD stakeholders to translate technical risks into business language.

Operate and maintain privileged-access and identity tooling in highly secure Defence environments: manage credential lifecycles, run discovery scans, ensure RPC and backups, monitor engines and sessions, generate audit reports, apply patches, troubleshoot network components, and integrate alerts with SIEM to detect suspicious activity.

Lead security architecture and secure delivery for MOD and internal projects. Support agile teams to design and deliver secure Kubernetes/cloud environments, perform risk management, produce assurance artefacts to meet MOD regulations, design mitigations, and collaborate with engineering, DevSecOps and cyber teams to implement secure-by-design solutions.

Design and deliver secure architectures for MOD and internal projects, support agile teams deploying Kubernetes and cloud services, conduct threat assessments, manage security risk, produce regulatory evidence, and work across engineering and DevSecOps teams to ensure secure-by-design delivery.

Define and evolve platform architecture and strategy, design secure scalable infrastructure, lead CI/CD and IaC automation, govern architecture decisions, mentor platform engineers, promote DevOps/SRE practices, and ensure platform security, compliance and operational resilience for Defence/National Security solutions.
