Chief of Staff serving as the CEO’s strategic partner, driving the company agenda, aligning leadership priorities, coordinating cross-functional teams, and translating vision into execution. Provide proactive executive support to Plum’s CEO and Founder by managing calendars, priorities, travel, communications, meetings, confidential matters, and administrative systems. The successful candidate will use AI and automation tools to improve efficiency and work from Plum’s London office at least three days per week.

Build and maintain scalable AI platform infrastructure, frameworks, libraries, and services supporting multiple engineering teams. Develop AI applications using LLMs, RAG, agentic architectures, prompt engineering, guardrails, and evaluation frameworks. Improve reliability, observability, monitoring, incident management, cost efficiency, developer experience, and safe deployment of AI-powered products while partnering with product and engineering teams.

Build and ship iOS features in Swift, writing simple, robust, testable code for Plum’s financial platform. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers; measure and iterate on App Store releases; take ownership of product outcomes; and mentor junior engineers. The role also involves continuous integration, automation, backend technologies, SwiftUI, The Composable Architecture, Combine, async/await, and end-to-end testing.

Lead the CASS Operations and Reconciliations function across the UK and EU. Build reconciliation frameworks for client money, custody assets, and investment products; oversee daily break resolution; establish scalable controls; lead and develop the team; automate processes with Product and Engineering; and manage regulatory compliance, operational risks, audits, and remediation activities.

The Senior Backend Engineer will design and build scalable systems, mentor junior engineers, identify process efficiencies, and communicate technical challenges effectively.
