Manages up to six analysts, aligns teams across London, Lavera, and Beijing, and advances quantitative modeling, data analytics, forecasting, and AI adoption. The role influences trading decisions, business growth, optimization, and revenue generation across the global energy value chain.

Build and run a physical and derivatives Aluminium trading desk: originate and execute trades across the value chain, manage supply chains and counterparties, develop hedging strategies, monitor market fundamentals and risks, deliver P&L growth, and provide strategic market analysis to senior management.

The Junior Metals Trader supports daily management of the copper trading book, trade execution, market analysis, and liaises with internal teams for trade operations.

Lead operational risk management for European PetroChina entities: develop risk frameworks, manage new business assurance, design/test controls, investigate incidents, produce trader KPI reports, support IT projects and onboard new starters to ensure control compliance across trading operations.

Support the biofuels trading desk by managing sustainability compliance and mass balance spreadsheets, validating sustainability documents, coordinating stock moves and vessel tracking with Operations, liaising with counterparties and Contracts, and supporting ISCC audits and reporting.

Prepare monthly trading margin results and reconciliations for oil, refined products, petrochemicals and biofuels under IFRS. Reconcile Risk P&L and Accounting P&L, manage ledger/exchange reconciliations, support audits and statutory reporting, lead month-end processes, automate reporting, and perform ad hoc financial analysis.

Provide regulatory support for renewable fuels across road, aviation and marine sectors. Monitor and interpret UK/EU legislation, develop and maintain compliance policies and governance, assess regulatory risks, advise commercial and operations teams, lead jurisdictional compliance assessments for market expansion, and engage with regulators and industry bodies to ensure certification and alignment with best practice.

Lead growth of bunker sales across ARA and wider Europe by developing customer and supplier relationships, originating sales and physical supply opportunities, trading marine fuels (VLSFO, HSFO, MGO, LNG, methanol, biofuels), and coordinating with trading, operations, credit and risk to execute transactions while shaping long-term business strategy.

Support growth of non-ferrous metals trading by building and owning fundamental supply/demand models (initial focus on Copper, expanding to Aluminium). Produce forecasts, price outlooks, and market intelligence; maintain proprietary databases; use Python, SQL and analytical/AI tools; present insights to traders and senior management; collaborate with Trading, Risk and Operations.
