Manage media relations for Ofcom, responding to national and international press inquiries, building stakeholder relationships, identifying proactive coverage opportunities, and supporting the organization’s media profile. The role translates complex regulatory and policy issues into clear communications, manages the external announcements pipeline, reports activity to senior leaders, assesses reputational risk, and works with digital news teams across online safety, broadcasting, telecoms, and technology topics.

Serve as the strategic People Partner for one or two Ofcom groups, advising senior leaders and delivering people strategies. Lead organisation design, People Plans, workforce planning, talent and succession programmes, pay review, performance management, engagement initiatives, and organisational change. Coach and challenge directors, manage stakeholders, identify organisational barriers and risks, and collaborate with Centres of Expertise to improve people processes and business readiness.

Lead Ofcom’s technical strategy for AI and machine learning in online safety. Assess AI systems for safety, fairness, robustness, transparency, and accountability; shape AI governance and assurance approaches; lead research and complex technical programmes; advise senior leaders; engage external stakeholders; and build organisational capability through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and multidisciplinary leadership.
