Teams at Modal

Build and optimize production AI workloads for Modal customers, including LLM serving, model training, audio pipelines, and scientific computing. Partner directly with frontier AI companies, conduct technical demos and proofs of concept, contribute to open-source projects and technical content, and collaborate with product and sales teams. The role requires strong ML engineering fundamentals, customer communication skills, and in-person work in London.

Own the full sales cycle for AI-native accounts across EMEA, from prospecting and technical discovery through closing and expansion. Sell directly to founders, CTOs, and ML leaders; scope workloads, run proofs of concept, and discuss GPUs, inference, containers, and model training. Build developer-community engagement, provide product feedback, and help establish scalable sales processes, pricing, and playbooks. The role requires a technical background, closing-sales experience, and five days per week in the office.

Build and run Modal’s UK people function as its first London-based People team member. Responsibilities include people operations, onboarding, offboarding, payroll and benefits coordination, employee support, UK compliance, HRIS data management, manager support, workplace operations, office events, vendor coordination, and local recruiting operations. The role requires autonomous ownership, strong organization, clear communication, and experience in fast-growing technology environments.
