Design, build and optimise large-scale data pipelines and processing systems for sensitive clinical and genomic data. Enable data lineage, metadata capture, de-identification, observability, testing and automation. Build scalable AWS data solutions, support data models and visualisation, and collaborate with product, QA, architecture and engineering to deliver trusted data products and machine learning enablement.

Lead technical direction for scalable, secure national-scale data platforms. Design and deliver enterprise cloud/hybrid data solutions, enforce governance and security, mentor engineers, and drive adoption of DataOps/DevOps, IaC, CI/CD and observability across teams working with sensitive clinical and research genomics data.

Lead and manage architecture across the Research tribe, shaping technical direction, ensuring coherent end-to-end designs, governance, interoperability, and scalable cloud-based research platforms. Provide oversight, mentor architects, align solutions with enterprise standards, and balance immediate delivery needs with long-term strategic architecture for data-intensive genomics services.

Lead technical design and delivery of Dynamics 365 and Power Platform solutions. Build and extend D365 using plugins, PCF controls, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages and integrations (SharePoint, AWS, Dataverse). Act as in-house SME, liaise with vendors, mentor engineers, manage platform governance, operational support, release processes and wave upgrade impacts.

Provide clinical leadership and subject-matter expertise for genomic diagnostic services, advising senior leadership and supporting product/service development, clinical safety, incident management, stakeholder engagement, and national/international representation. Work closely with NHS partners to implement genomic diagnostics for rare disease and cancer and support research coordination.

Lead Genomics England as Chair, providing board leadership, governance, and strategic challenge to the CEO. Act as public ambassador, build senior stakeholder relationships (including government), oversee board and executive performance, and support scaling of technology- and data-enabled genomic services.
