Lead the multi-year Hosting Strategy programme delivering cloud migrations, new cloud services contract, data-layer improvements and legacy retirement. Coordinate cross-functional technical, commercial and governance teams, manage risks/dependencies, support procurement and supplier transition, oversee finances and benefits tracking, and prepare decision-focused reporting for senior leaders and stakeholders.

Hands-on Principal Engineer who defines architecture and technical direction, mentors squads, collaborates with product and bioinformatics teams, drives API and infrastructure design, ensures operational excellence, and helps evolve genomics processing platforms across cloud and on-prem HPC.

Lead delivery of on‑premise and cloud infrastructure for genomics platforms, coordinating multiple technical workstreams, suppliers and stakeholders. Manage plans, RAID logs, governance, compliance (cybersecurity/data protection), reporting and risk to ensure aligned, timely delivery across squads and partners.

Lead solution design and architecture for corporate and SaaS platforms (People, Finance, Procurement, Legal, etc.), develop target architectures and integration approaches, work with vendors and cross-functional teams, contribute to enterprise architecture governance, and ensure solutions meet business, security, regulatory, and operational requirements.

Lead enterprise architecture vision, strategy and roadmaps across clinical, research, data, digital and corporate capabilities. Define principles, standards, target architectures and transition plans; assess current-state, reduce complexity, guide major initiatives, ensure governance and alignment, and engage senior stakeholders, vendors and multidisciplinary teams.

Lead Genomics England as Chair, providing board leadership, governance, and strategic challenge to the CEO. Act as public ambassador, build senior stakeholder relationships (including government), oversee board and executive performance, and support scaling of technology- and data-enabled genomic services.
