Senior individual-contributor Principal Data Engineer to set technical direction and standards for scalable, secure national-scale genomic and clinical data platforms. Lead design and delivery of cloud/hybrid Lakehouse and event-driven systems, enforce governance, drive DataOps/DevOps practices, improve resilience and observability, evaluate tools, mentor engineers, and influence architecture across teams in a regulated healthcare/research environment.

Lead product strategy and roadmap for genomic knowledge management products that support clinical SaMD pipelines and research. Prioritise backlogs, manage dependencies, assess build/buy/partner options, ensure regulatory and clinical safety compliance, align stakeholders, and measure product value while guiding technical and data changes across squads.

Lead data management across clinical and research domains, establish governance and standards, improve data quality and discoverability, shape Genomic Research Dataset processes and tooling, collaborate with engineers, researchers and partners, and ensure compliance with regulatory and ethical requirements.

Provide administrative and operational support to the Legal team: triage the shared inbox, maintain contract registers and legal systems, review standard contracts, prepare execution-ready documents, manage e-signature workflows, coordinate meetings and minutes, support post-execution contract management, conduct legal research, and collaborate with Procurement, Information Governance and other stakeholders.

Lead strategy, roadmap and delivery for internal platform products (data stores, APIs, shared capabilities) that support genomic data processing and access. Balance reliability, scalability, technical debt and platform evolution while partnering with engineering, architecture and stakeholders in a regulated healthcare environment. Drive migrations from legacy systems, measure platform health, improve developer experience, and mentor other product managers.

Design, build and optimise AWS cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines using Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins and GitLab. Drive automation, enforce cloud governance, mentor application teams, monitor platform performance, troubleshoot issues, and deliver reusable platform components for scalable, secure operations.

Lead Genomics England as Chair, providing board leadership, governance, and strategic challenge to the CEO. Act as public ambassador, build senior stakeholder relationships (including government), oversee board and executive performance, and support scaling of technology- and data-enabled genomic services.
