Leads business planning and performance for a major motorway infrastructure joint venture. Responsibilities include shaping strategy, annual planning, governance, enterprise risk, performance management, transformation, continuous improvement, digital capability, stakeholder engagement, and executive reporting. The role advises the Managing Director and Board, manages contractual and handback obligations, aligns cross-functional teams, and develops a high-performing business planning and performance function.

Provides strategic leadership and accountability for engineering, design, technical governance, and assurance across the National Highways Area 5 network. Leads approximately 45 engineers and design managers, oversees multidisciplinary infrastructure portfolios, manages budgets and external partners, and ensures safe, compliant, sustainable delivery. The role drives whole-life asset management, digital transformation, innovation, resource planning, stakeholder engagement, incident response, and Principal Designer responsibilities under CDM Regulations.

Owns UK and cross-border tax compliance across multiple legal entities, including VAT returns, indirect tax filings, corporation tax computations, deferred and current tax provisions, cash tax monitoring, transfer pricing support, and tax authority correspondence. The role reconciles statutory and management reporting, maintains compliance calendars, ensures Making Tax Digital compliance, and improves tax processes through standardization and automation.
