The Principal Software Engineer will lead the development of containerized AI agents, guide architectural decisions, and enhance the cagent open-source project while mentoring team members.

Design, build, and own disposable isolated microVM sandboxes and related runtime infrastructure for AI coding agents. Improve reliability, performance, and security across macOS, Windows, and Linux; lead architecture, mentor engineers, engage open-source communities, participate in on-call rotations, and collaborate with Product and adjacent teams.

Drive partner-led growth across Central EMEA by recruiting, onboarding, enabling, and scaling resellers, VARs, and solution partners. Manage partner pipelines, deal registration, forecasting, account planning, co-selling, joint marketing, demand generation, and performance reviews. Collaborate with sales, marketing, product, and technical teams to increase partner-sourced revenue, ARR, renewals, and regional market coverage.

Lead Docker’s Secure Build and SCS Services teams, owning delivery, team health, technical direction, operational excellence, hiring, and engineer development. Shape portfolio priorities across secure build, Docker Scout, and Docker Hardened Images while balancing roadmap work, reliability, on-call, and stakeholder commitments. Partner with Product and cross-functional teams, guide distributed-systems and infrastructure decisions, oversee incidents and production operations, and establish clear ownership across team interfaces. The role requires strong backend engineering judgment, software supply-chain security understanding, and leadership across remote European and US teams.

Qualify and prospect Docker users for commercial licenses through outbound and inbound outreach, schedule discovery meetings, meet KPI targets, maintain Salesforce hygiene, and collaborate with cross-functional teams while mentoring peers.

Serve as a strategic technical advisor to enterprise customers, drive adoption and expansion of Docker products, conduct health and maturity reviews, design complex adoption plans, lead executive business reviews, translate customer needs into product feedback, and mentor/scale TAM practices.

Lead customer onboarding and provisioning for Docker customers across EMEA. Partner with Customer Success, Sales, Operations, and Support to improve workflows, automation, tooling, and customer transitions. Guide customers through personalized onboarding and migration journeys, maintain strong relationships, resolve complex issues, document solutions, and optimize processes for efficiency, scalability, satisfaction, and revenue impact before transitioning customers to Customer Success Management.

Lead and implement backend and developer-experience initiatives across Clojure and Go systems. Define architecture, build and operate distributed services, event pipelines, databases and APIs, improve observability and reliability, mentor senior engineers, and drive cross-team delivery from ambiguity to measurable outcomes while participating in on-call rotation.

Design, build, and operate Go-based services powering Docker's secure build and CI infrastructure. Deliver isolation, identity, policy, provenance, attestation and signing capabilities, improve reliability of Docker Build Cloud and Auto Builds, own features end-to-end, participate in on-call rotation, and collaborate with product, security, and platform teams to produce secure, reproducible developer and agent workflows.

Serve as a trusted technical lead for strategic customers, driving container and AI adoption through pre/post-sales engagements. Lead prototyping, demos, enablement content, and cross-functional coordination with product and engineering. Act as regional field technical leader, gather and prioritize field feedback, and represent Docker externally. Role includes up to 50% international travel.

Post-sales technical expert who designs and delivers scalable 1:many enablement, builds reusable PoC frameworks and demo environments, produces deep technical content, and provides architectural guidance for container security, supply chain integrity, CI/CD, and AI-agent governance to drive product adoption across customer cohorts.
