Genius Sports, a London-based sports technology platform, recently announced the close of its acquisition of Legend, a digital sports and gaming media network. The move serves to further Genius Sports’ position in the official sports data and media and advertising spaces.
Specializing in real-time sports data, Genius Sports works to organize and optimize sports experiences for fans across the globe. It partners with over 400 sports organizations to connect live data, streaming and audience engagement. Legend’s platform encompasses marketing technology that powers digital properties, including Covers.com, Casino.org and Casino Guru. The company recorded 320 million annual visits during 2025.
“Genius Sports has spent years building the data infrastructure behind modern sport. With Legend, we now extend that into the moment where fans choose to participate and act,” Mark Locke, Genius Sports’ CEO, said in a company blog. “This combination not only strengthens our core sports business but also expands our ability to monetize new audiences in iGaming, increasing the economic value of our platform across both verticals and driving significant cash flow.”
