Overview
Adapt is looking for an experienced YouTube SEO Specialist to support our channel growth initiatives. In this freelance role, you’ll help shape and execute our YouTube SEO strategy: optimizing visibility, engagement, and conversion performance through data-driven insights and best practices.
This role will initially require 5-10 hours of work per month the next 12 months with the possibility to collaborate in more projects/clients with time.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct keyword and topic research for YouTube to identify high-impact opportunities and inform content strategy.
- Optimize video metadata (titles, descriptions, tags, thumbnails, filenames, and playlists) to maximize visibility and click-through rate.
- Analyze channel and video performance using YouTube Analytics and other SEO tools to identify trends, opportunities, and actionable insights.
- Perform competitor and trend research within the client’s niche to uncover content and optimization gaps.
- Optimize video distribution and promotion strategy, including playlists, linking, and cross-platform promotion.
- Collaborate closely with Paid Media, Analytics, and Content teams to align YouTube SEO efforts with broader marketing goals and campaigns.
- Stay up to date with YouTube algorithm changes, SEO best practices, and emerging trends to continuously improve channel performance.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience optimizing YouTube channels or videos with measurable performance growth.
- Strong understanding of what makes a good video: including factors that drive retention and engagement (hook, pacing, storytelling, end-screens, cards, etc.).
- Proficiency with YouTube Studio, TubeBuddy, VidIQ, Google Trends, and related keyword research or analytics tools.
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to interpret analytics and translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Strong collaboration skills and able to work cross-functionally with Paid Media, Content, and SEO teams to ensure cohesive campaign execution.
- Excellent communication and reporting abilities, comfortable presenting findings and recommendations.
