Stagecoach London employs around 5000 colleagues and operates about 1600 vehicles from our bus garages in east and south east London. Not only are we a highly successful business, we’re also an integral part of the communities we serve, connecting people through the operation of multi-million miles of routes every year across London.

Since 1980, Stagecoach Group has played a key role in the delivery of high standard transport operations with an industry leading, customer-centric focus. Here at Stagecoach London, we are passionate about delivering exceptional experiences to our customers, no matter how long or short that journey may be.

A summary:

You’ll assist our engineering management team at Lea Interchange Garage in leading a talent team of colleagues, from apprentices, coachbuilders through to skilled engineers and administrative/support functions. The remit primarily serves to assist the Engineering Manager in the day-to-day operational management of the local engineering function, encompassing an array of areas from garage premises to equipment.

What we need from you:

  • A demonstrable and well-established experience level at middle management within an automotive/heavy vehicles bias, likewise historic experience of “tool based” work.
  • Familiarity with best practice standards, notably related to Health, Safety, Quality & Environment.
  • An understanding of quality standards required by DVSA, TfL and the Department of Transport.
  • An excellent technical knowledge. Ideally you’ll have PCV experience (though not essential), as we can teach you the bus part if you’re in fleet management in an alternative field.
  • Great people skills as being an inclusive and diverse people business will require you to be adaptable and lead by example.

What we can offer you:

  • Great benefits including a competitive salary of £69,802.27 per annum, company pension scheme, free financial education and affordable loans, and finally a range of money-saving opportunities including discounts on holidays and retail, cinema outings, dental insurance, vehicle breakdown cover and hotels and attractions.
  • Free travel for you and a household member on TfL bus and rail services (this is a non-contractual benefit) and outside London there is free travel for you and a companion on Stagecoach buses.
  • UK-wide opportunities, career development and secondment opportunities to work elsewhere in our UK business.
  • An employee assistance programme which supports health and wellbeing through a confidential service available 24 hours a day, which provides specialist guidance and assistance on a range of personal and work-related issues, from dealing with stress and anxiety to managing financial, marital or legal issues.
  • A great working environment with loads of opportunity to make new friends from a bunch of great colleagues and employee networks building inclusive environments for women, veterans, carers, multicultural and LGBTQ+ colleagues. We are proud to advocate and collaborate with our corporate charity, as well as a number of community engagement projects – in addition to proudly promoting an array of health, wellbeing and family initiatives.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our growth story, so if this sounds like you, then apply today!

Stagecoach is proudly an inclusive employer, striving for a culture where everyone can be themselves and where all the differences people bring are truly appreciated. We welcome applications from all, irrespective of gender, ethnicity, race, religion, beliefs, disability, neurodiversity, sexual orientation, or age.
