We are looking for Workshop and Teaching Supervisors for our University Campus summer programmes in Exeter, Warwick, Uxbridge, Richmond, Guildford, Stirling, and Portsmouth.

This dual role involves working with the Teaching Manager (TM) to provide support to the teaching team, and to coordinate and oversee workshops with the Activity Team, ensuring the safe operation of the academic and workshop programme for both students and staff. An overview of the role follows:
  • Assist the Teaching Manager in academic management and administration
  • Assist with staff training and support
  • Oversee the implementation of effective health and safety, risk assessment and risk management procedures in the academic programme
  • Prepare and train activity staff to deliver ANGLO workshops
  • Be on hand to teach when cover is required
Your role & responsibilities
ANGLO Workshops:
  • Attending the WTS Training webinar prior to the centre opening
  • Running ANGLO Leader training to prepare for workshops
  • Planning and delivering all Workshop sessions, selecting materials, aids and locations for each workshop appropriate to the students’ ages and levels
  • Leading meetings prior to each Workshop and ensuring all staff are prepared to assist the students in completing their workshops, through a clear outline of the session aims and objectives
  • Supervising each Workshop group to assist staff where necessary
  • Liaising with the Activity Manager regarding ANGLO Leaders who lead workshops
  • Being familiar with and following all legislation, guidelines and rules set out in the WTS manual
  • Setting up and maintaining teaching/workshop spaces
  • Liaising with staff and IT support to resolve IT issues

Teaching supervision:
  • Administering placement tests alongside the TM where necessary
  • Assisting the TM in timetabling classes
  • Attending meetings as required by the TM
  • Assisting the TM in monitoring of student attendance and ensuring ANGLO’s attendance procedure is followed
  • Attending teaching staff meetings
  • Assisting the TM in supervising the completion of all legal and other necessary documentation such as class registers, lesson plans, student profiles, academic reports, end of course feedback
  • Attending and contribution in induction and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) sessions
  • Providing guidance and advice to teaching staff as needed
  • Assisting in the organisation of a certificate ceremony at the completion of each course
  • Reporting to the TM any relevant incidents or complaints including student or staff discipline
  • Supervising delivery and reacting to student online questionnaires in a timely fashion
  • Assisting the TM in arranging teacher cover and, where necessary, delivering lessons
  • Keeping an accurate inventory of all materials
  • Managing Trinity revision/exam preparation sessions, gathering grades, communicating with Head Office, and managing exam sessions
  • Printing and organising student certificates
  • Providing teaching cover when required
Safeguarding and Welfare:

  • Receiving Safeguarding Level 2 Training
  • Acting as a Designated Safeguarding Person (DSP) at centre where required
  • Completing Workshop and Teaching Risk Assessments
  • Completing Part B risk log before each workshop, communicating risks to staff, and ensuring all students and Group Leaders are informed
  • Making sure staff understand and implement the risk assessments and are following the relevant Emergency Reaction Plans
  • Overseeing the supervision of students during break times and allocating staff to supervise students between sessions
  • Assisting in the training of new staff for Safeguarding Level 1
  • Liaising with the ANGLO Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) at Head Office whenever necessary through appropriate channels
  • Making sure that staff are aware of what to do if they have concerns about a child or if a child or another member of staff makes a disclosure


Requirements
Essential (Please do not apply if you do not meet these requirements)
  • You have the right to work in the UK
  • University degree + TEFLI (CELTA)
  • Native or near-native English fluency
  • 3 years’ experience teaching under-18s
  • Advanced IT skills, including Excel, Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and classroom technology
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, team player attitude
  • Commitment to high-quality customer service, displaying a positive “can-do” attitude
  • Ability to work under pressure, strong work ethic and ability to implement change at short notice
  • Committed to continuing professional development

Desirable
  • University degree + TEFLQ qualification or equivalent experience (e.g.: DELTA, MA TESOL)
  • Young Learners teaching qualification
  • Experience conducting class observations and delivering CPD
  • Management experience in a similar environment
  • Experience in preparing students for Trinity GESE

Benefits
Bed & Board:
Residential position. Full bed and board is provided

Hours:
87.5 hours per 10-night student programme (Exeter & Warwick)
93 hours per 14-night student programme plus total 14 hours of additional admin hours (all other locations).
No overtime payment unless agreed in advance with Head Office.
On some occasions we have to offer 14-night 46.5 hour programmes, in which case hours and remuneration are halved. We will always let you know if this happens.

Pay:
£1,470.92 - £1,563.38 per student programme including holiday pay
Additional admin. hours not included in above figures (where applicable)
Plus paid online training before arrival

Contract:
Temporary, fixed term

Preparation:
Comprehensive training pre-arrival
