About the Team

The GSMA Workday team is a dedicated group of specialists responsible for our Workday platform. We manage both the HCM and Financials applications within the platform, with assigned roles for each, ensuring everything runs smoothly for our 700+ colleagues. The Workday team is part of the wider IT Applications team who manage the GSMA’s core platforms; M365, Salesforce and Workday. The team have specialists in each area ensuring system availability and constant development & innovation are maintained for GSMA’s key processes. 

About the Role

In this role, you will the key resource for support and implementation of Workday HCM modules, working closely with our People & Culture colleagues to help with their day-to-day requirements, as well as the roadmap for the adoption of HCM modules yet to be implemented.

You will take ownership of the HCM application, supported by your Workday team lead, to ensure impacts across the platform are taken into consideration when configuring HCM and implementing new modules and features.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Manage support of the Workday HCM application 

  • Support and advise the People & Culture team on HCM queries and ways of working 

  • Support the Workday Team Lead and IT Business Partner in assessing requirements demand from the People & Culture team and wider GSMA business 

  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve the operational aspects and business processes on HCM and across the Workday platform 

  • Provide EIB and data load assistance for bulk upload events (e.g. annual Salary & Bonus updates) 

  • Review and manage the HCM and relevant platform-wide aspects of Workday’s release process, assessing impact of changes and identifying opportunities arising from the releases. 

  • Collaborate with internal IT colleagues on impact of HCM changes on downstream integrations 

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Workday HCM strategies, modules and releases, to ensure GSMA is adopting best practices and functional utilisation of the platform features. 

About You

We are looking for a candidate that has:

Proven and demonstrable experience in following core HCM functionality, especially: 

  • Employee Data 

  • Supervisory Organisations 

  • Compensation 

  • Recruitment 

  • Absence 

  • Performance 

Proven and demonstrable experience in following Workday platform areas: 

  • Business Processes – build and maintenance 

  • EIB and bulk data loading 

  • Security 

Exposure to the following modules would be advantageous:

  • Advanced Compensation 

  • Skills & Development 

  • Learning 

  • Composite Report building 

The following skills are also essential:

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal). 

  • Ability to work independently, but also contribute to team tasks
