Your Role: Workday Financials Analyst (Maternity Cover)

As a Workday Financials Analyst at Global, you will play a key role in supporting and optimising our Workday Financials and Adaptive Planning solutions. Sitting within the Technology Group Applications team, you’ll partner closely with Finance to ensure our systems deliver seamless, efficient, and scalable processes across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • BAU & Continuous Improvement (50%)

  • Act as a key contact for Workday Financials and Adaptive Planning queries, providing day-to-day support through ServiceNow.

  • Manage ongoing system administration including configuration, security, integrations, and data quality.

  • Resolve incidents promptly and identify opportunities to prevent recurrence through smarter design.

  • Review and refine finance business processes, driving simplicity, standardisation, and automation.

  • Develop and maintain reporting and analytics solutions using Workday Report Writer

  • Stay current with new Workday functionality, assessing release updates for relevance and value to Finance.

  • Partner with the Finance community and our AMS partner (Cloud Rock) to ensure smooth operations and continuous improvement across all functional areas.

  • Enhancement Projects (50%)

  • Lead and support Workday/Adaptive projects from design to delivery, including requirements gathering, solution design, build, testing, and deployment.

  • Collaborate closely with Finance, Technology, and HCM colleagues to deliver integrated cross-functional solutions.

  • Document “as-is” and “to-be” processes, ensuring clear traceability of requirements and measurable benefits.

  • Support change management activities including testing, training, and communications to ensure successful adoption.

  • Contribute to roadmap planning and help shape the future direction of the Workday Finance platform.

What Success Looks Like

In your first few months, you’ll have:

  • Built a strong understanding of Global’s Finance structure and processes.

  • Developed hands-on knowledge of Workday/Adaptive with a key focus on Financial Accounting & Financial Planning

  • Identified and scoped opportunities for process or configuration improvements.

  • Delivered enhancements to streamline Finance operations.

  • Established trusted partnerships with Finance stakeholders and system partners.

  • Supported a smooth delivery of Workday release updates.

What You’ll Need

  • Qualified Accountant (mandatory): With 2+ years’ Workday Financials experience.

  • Workday Expertise: Expert in Workday Financials configuration, business processes, security, and reporting, especially in Financial Accounting.

  • Finance Knowledge: Broad understanding of Finance processes (Accounting, Planning, AR, AP, Tax, Treasury) with a key focus on Accounting & Planning.

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to connect people, process, data & technology holistically.

  • Continuous Improvement Mindset: Always seeking better, simpler, and more automated ways of working.

  • Collaboration & Communication: Excellent stakeholder skills with the confidence to engage across technical and non-technical teams.
