Verition Fund Management LLC (“Verition”) is a multi-strategy, multi-manager hedge fund founded in 2008.  Verition focuses on global investment strategies including Global Credit, Global Convertible, Volatility & Capital Structure Arbitrage, Event-Driven Investing, Equity Long/Short & Capital Markets Trading, and Global Quantitative Trading.

We are seeking a Windows Systems Engineer to help manage and maintain our infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations while contributing to the company’s success. This person will design, build, manage, monitor, and maintain new servers, applications, and other various hardware and software in support of the achievement of business requirements. This will include system design, system evaluations, security, testing, installing and analyzing software applications in a global Windows network environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain both physical and virtual Windows servers ensuring optimal performance, availability and security.
  • Perform high-level, day-to-day engineering support, and upgrades for complex operating systems configurations. 
  • Schedule installations and upgrades and maintain them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
  • Develop, establish, design, and perform server and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
  • Conduct hardware and software audits of servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
  • Participate in ongoing improvements regarding use of directory services for managing access and deployment of device policy and account rights.
  • Determine points of escalation for technology help from System Engineers by reviewing issues prior to escalation, whenever possible.
  • Work within the team to establish and maintain documentation on all platforms, protocols, standards, and system maintenance activities related to systems management and integration. 

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in a similar role 
  • Expertise in Windows Servers including all core services such as: Active Directory, GPO, DCHP, Trusts, etc. 
  • Experience with VMware: Virtual Server Infrastructure as well as Horizon View Virtual Desktop Infrastructure
  • Cloud solutions expertise in Entra and MS365 Management 
  • Experience with enterprise level data protection solutions such as Zerto and Rubrik 
  • Experience with storage solutions such as NetApp and Nimble
  • Scripting proficiency in PowerShell
