This is a remote position.

We at Fusion Practices are hiring a Windows & application migration Engineer, you will be responsible for the migration of Finance Portal, SQL Reporting Services (SSRS), and associated ASP.NET/.NET applications from Windows Server 2012 to a supported server platform. You will work closely with Infrastructure, Database, Network, Security, and Application teams to build new environments, perform application and reporting migrations, execute testing and production cutovers, and ensure a stable, secure, and fully supported platform with minimal business disruption.

Key responsibilities - 
  • Provision, configure, and support new Windows Server environments in accordance with enterprise standards.
  • Install and configure IIS, application pools, websites, SSL certificates, and related web server components.
  • Migrate and validate Finance Portal and other ASP.NET/.NET applications to the new server platform.
  • Upgrade and migrate SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), including reports, subscriptions, service accounts, and encryption keys.
  • Configure deployment pipelines, environment mappings, and application configurations across Development, Test, DR, and Production environments.
  • Perform infrastructure activities including DNS updates, firewall configuration, hostname changes, and connectivity validation.
  • Develop and execute PowerShell scripts to automate server builds, deployments, and validation activities.
  • Support SIT, UAT, production migration, rollback planning, and post-deployment validation activities
  • Troubleshoot migration, compatibility, and deployment issues to ensure successful implementation
  • Support production cutover, hypercare activities, and decommissioning of legacy Windows Server 2012 environments.
Skills and Experience:

  • Windows Server Administration – Provision, configure, migrate, and support Windows Server environments.
  • IIS Administration – Install, configure, and manage IIS-hosted web applications.
  • ASP.NET & .NET Applications – Experience deploying, configuring, troubleshooting, and migrating ASP.NET/.NET Framework applications on Windows and IIS platforms.
  • SQL Server & SSRS – Upgrade, migrate, and support SQL Server and SSRS environments
  • Application Migration & Deployment – Migrate web applications and manage deployments across environments.
  • Infrastructure & Networking – Configure DNS, networking, firewall rules, and production cutovers
  • PowerShell & Automation – Develop scripts to automate server builds, deployments, and validation activities.
  • Testing & Cutover Management – Perform SIT/UAT, production migration, rollback planning, and post-migration support.
