Purpose

The Warehouse & Device Configuration Assistant at Global Payments Stadia and Events will play a crucial role in supporting the Warehouse Operations Manager and Warehouse and Device Configuration  Manager in managing our warehouse operations and helping to deploy card terminals, to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and high standards of customer service. 

This position involves managing stock in the warehouse accurately and efficiently and ensuring timely and accurate incoming and outgoing deliveries. Mistakes are costly to our business and to our customers and therefore we need a team member who can operate in a fast paced environment helping us to deliver effectively for our clients and stakeholders. In addition, this role is also a key part of our device configuration team - with a knowledge required of all hardware.

The Warehouse Assistant is at the heart of our operation and an extremely important role within our business. The Warehouse Assistant will help to coordinate stock and inventory, packing orders, be required to regularly operate a forklift and be responsible for overall organisation and tidiness of the warehouse year round. 


Duties And Responsibilities

  • Receiving, unpacking, arranging, and storing goods.

  • Gathering, packing, preparing, and loading goods for dispatch.

  • Checking stock for damage and wear.

  • Reporting faults and discrepancies.

  • Marking and labeling stock.

  • Processing inbound and outbound shipments.

  • Verifying shipping documents.

  • Ensuring products are stored correctly and in good condition.

  • Managing and organising stock.

  • Packing orders (excluding heavy lifting).

  • Updating spreadsheets for incoming MTC equipment.

  • Picking and packing outgoing orders and MTC equipment. 

  • Regular driving of Forklift.

  • Assisting with stock takes and audit preparation. 

  • Keep all stock items organised in designated locations.

  • Preparation of Card Terminal orders accurately and efficiently. Familiar with all procedures and processes relating to all card terminals (whether Lanes, Moves or Pax) including Software Loading, TMS and thorough Testing.

  • Prepare card payment terminals for dispatch, including testing, cleaning, correctly and securely boxing and some configuration of settings and setup.

  • Cleaning and testing card payment terminals between events/deployments as they return to the warehouse.

  • Workshop based work - doing configurations of EPOS hardware including servicing of loan units: POS, printers, and other related equipment (replacing broken parts, refurbishing, testing etc.).

  • Install and configure payment terminals, including setting up and testing, connecting devices to networks, and troubleshooting basic technical issues.

  • Simple technical tasks around EPOS and card terminal hardware, including, but not exclusive to, removing or fitting parts.

  • Cleaning and testing card payment terminals between events as they return to the warehouse.

  • Where required, provide onsite technical support for the deployed infrastructure during an event, monitoring performance, diagnosing and fixing issues as they arise, providing a timely response service to issues and queries.

  • Physical deliveries and collections at customer locations as and when required.

  • Ensuring the main warehouse and Windsor facility is well organised, clean, and tidy at all times.

  • Inspecting the warehouse for any hazards and following health and safety procedures on daily bases.

  • Occasional assistance in the field may be required to support the wider business operation.

  • Undertaking other relevant tasks as and when directed by the Warehouse and Device Configuration Manager or the site Project Manager and when reasonably requested by other team members.

  • General warehouse duties which includes tidying, sweeping and other tasks allocated by the Warehouse Operations Manager or the Warehouse and Device Configuration Manager.


Competencies (Knowledge / Skills or Abilities / Behaviour)

  • Skilled forklift operator.

  • Awareness and understanding of health and safety in a busy warehouse.

  • Confident driver of a variety of vehicles - from small vans to luton vans.

  • Technical knowledge to handle card payment terminals and point of sale hardware.

  • Dedicated and hard-working with a willingness to get your hands dirty.

  • Ability to work in and react to a changing environment and respond pragmatically to problems as they arise.

  • IT or computer skills or experience would be preferred, but not essential.

  • Strong communication skills and a professional approach as your foundation, you'll be self-motivated, organized, punctual and responsive to job requests.

  • Excellent interpersonal, active listening and communication skills.

  • Knowledge of EPOS and payments devices, configuration and support.

  • Excellent planning and organisational skills; able to establish efficient and appropriate plans for self incorporating multiple priorities, deadlines, objectives and workloads.

  • Be a team player with a ‘can do’ attitude.

  • Ensure that all company standards and policies are implemented and maintained.

  • Be self-motivated.

  • Possess excellent time management.

  • Possess a high degree of accuracy and excellent attention to detail.

  • Be a team player working as part of the Warehouse team.

  • Have good attention to detail due to ever changing stock.

  • Ability to work to deadlines and a daily work schedule.

  • Ability to adapt proactively, quickly and effectively to unexpected changes whilst still ensuring objectives are met.


Qualifications

  • Full Drivers License. 

  • Forklift license. 

  • SIA License.
