About the role

We’re growing our engineering team following the commercial success we’ve had this year and to help with that we’re looking for an experienced VP of Engineering. You’ll be reporting to the CTO, helping to guide the strategy, growth and execution of the team.

  • Owning and evolving the engineering org structure, career framework and performance management processes.
  • Partnering with the CTO and leadership team on budgeting, headcount planning and long-term technical investments.

On the frontend we’re using React, Next.js and TypeScript. On the backend we use Golang to serve RESTful and gRPC APIs running on Kubernetes. Our mobile apps have been built natively from the ground up using Swift and Kotlin. We use GitHub for version control and CI, Jira for tracking tasks and Slack for sending cat GIFs.

  • Reviewing other engineer’s code, making suggestions and using them as teaching opportunities for more advanced techniques.
  • Spotting the gaps in technical capabilities or resources and filling them at the right time.
  • Working closely with the product, marketing and sales teams to bring their visions to life while balancing innovation, delivery velocity, technical debt and platform sustainability.
  • Owning engineering delivery performance: throughput, predictability, quality and operational excellence.
