About the role

Everway’s products support learners with diverse needs, but today we lack consistent visibility into how they’re used, their impact, and where they can improve. This role exists to build that capability.

We’re looking for a VP, Product Data to define how product telemetry is captured, modelled, and turned into trusted, governed data products. You’ll go beyond traditional product analytics—owning the telemetry strategy, establishing shared data models across a multi-product portfolio, and enabling both internal decision-making and customer-facing insights.

You’ll work across complex products (e.g., assistive tech, accessibility tools) where defining meaningful usage and connecting it to learner outcomes is key, while also building the data foundation for customer-facing insights that position usage transparency and outcomes measurement as a core part of our product offering. Partnering closely with Data Engineering, Analytics, and Product leadership, you’ll play a hands-on role in building and scaling this capability.

Main responsibilities
  • Define and lead the product data strategy, anchored in key business and product decisions
  • Own the telemetry platform strategy, including event pipeline design into the Databricks lakehouse
  • Establish instrumentation standards (event schemas, naming, versioning) across product teams
  • Design and deliver governed product data products (datasets, metrics, dashboards)
  • Build shared data models to unify product usage across a multi-product portfolio
  • Enable customer-facing insights and usage transparency as part of the product experience
  • Evaluate and implement product analytics tooling aligned to platform and governance standards
  • Partner with Data Engineering and Analytics on pipelines, data contracts, and consumption
  • Work closely with Product teams to define success metrics and measurement frameworks
  • Deliver actionable insights linking product usage to business and learner outcomes
  • Enable self-service through shared metrics, documentation, and dashboards
  • Build and scale a small, high-impact product data team
Essential Criteria
  • 5+ years in product data, product analytics, or analytics engineering in a SaaS/tech environment
  • Experience defining product instrumentation and telemetry architecture at scale
  • Experience building or owning event pipelines (first-party telemetry preferred)
  • Strong partnership with Product and Engineering on metrics and measurement
  • Experience creating governed, reusable data assets from product data
  • Hands-on experience with modern data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake)
  • Strong SQL and Python skills across data pipelines and analysis
  • Experience leading small, high-performing teams
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence across technical and business stakeholders
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience with product analytics tools (e.g., Amplitude, Pendo, Gainsight PX)
  • Experience with AI/ML applied to product or behavioural data
  • Experience measuring non-traditional product interactions (e.g., accessibility tools)
  • Experience delivering customer-facing analytics or usage insights
  • Experience working across multi-product or M&A environments
  • Experience building internal data products (datasets, APIs, feature stores)
  • Familiarity with embedding data into product development workflows
  • Background in EdTech, assistive technology, or mission-driven organisations
