As the VP, Chief Enterprise Architect, you will set the vision for enterprise-wide architecture—driving digital and AI-enabled transformation, and influencing business strategy at the highest levels. You’ll bring consultative leadership, deep technical expertise, and executive presence to orchestrate change and deliver lasting impact across our global business.

In this role, you will set the target-state architecture across digital, data, AI, cloud, and core platforms. You will ensure our technology landscape accelerates R&D innovation, modernizes manufacturing, enhances commercial effectiveness, and strengthens regulatory resilience.
This is a strategic executive leadership role requiring consultative influence, technical depth, and the ability to translate emerging technologies into scalable, secure, and AI-ready enterprise capabilities across a highly regulated global organization.

Key Responsibilities

Vision & Enterprise Strategy

  • Define and lead a multi-year enterprise architecture strategy aligned to business growth, AI scale, operational excellence, and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish a clear target-state architecture and phased transformation roadmap across global business units.
  • Ensure technology investments reduce complexity, enable reuse, and accelerate innovation velocity.

Enterprise AI & Platform Enablement

  • Design the enterprise AI and data platform architecture to enable AI-at-scale across R&D, manufacturing, and commercial functions.
  • Establish standards for responsible AI, model governance, data interoperability, and secure AI deployment in regulated environments.
  • Accelerate AI solution deployment through reusable patterns, reference architectures, and scalable digital platforms.

Executive Influence & Business Partnership

  • Advise senior business and technology leaders, translating complex enterprise challenges into actionable architecture roadmaps tied to measurable outcomes.
  • Align architecture priorities to business KPIs such as time-to-market, productivity gains, cost optimization, and risk reduction.
  • Serve as enterprise design authority for major transformation programs and strategic investments.

Governance & Risk

  • Design pragmatic, agile architecture governance that balances innovation with security, compliance, and enterprise risk management.
  • Lead enterprise standards across cloud, data, integration, security, and AI domains.
  • Guide architecture strategy during M&A, integration, and organizational redesign efforts.

Organizational Leadership & Evangelism

  • Build, inspire, and scale a high-performing global architecture community across enterprise, domain, data, AI, and platform disciplines.
  • Champion architecture as a strategic capability — shifting from review-and-approve to enable-and-accelerate.
  • Foster a culture of learning, experimentation, and disciplined execution.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Cultivate strong partnerships across global business functions, external innovators, and strategic technology partners.
  • Represent enterprise architecture in executive forums and strategic planning discussions.

Why You?
We are seeking professionals with the following skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals:

  • Advanced degree (MS, MBA, or equivalent) and relevant certifications (TOGAF, advanced cloud or AI architecture credentials) would be preferred.
  • Significant enterprise architecture leadership experience, including service as Chief Architect or Enterprise Architecture VP within a complex, global organizations.
  • Experience in global, highly regulated environments such as bio-pharma, healthcare, or life sciences would be ideal.
  • Demonstrated ownership of enterprise-wide digital and AI transformation strategies delivering measurable business impact.
  • Experience architecting scalable AI, cloud, data, and platform ecosystems in regulated industries.
  • Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders and simplify complex technical strategies into business-aligned action.
  • Strong execution discipline — balancing strategic vision with practical delivery.
  • Demonstrated success reducing enterprise complexity, rationalizing legacy estates, and accelerating platform adoption.
  • Thought leadership through industry forums, publishing, or standards bodies.
  • Experience integrating architecture strategies post-M&A and during large-scale operating model transformation.
  • Proven ability to mentor senior architects and build federated global architecture communities.
