Video Content Producer – LBC

Reporting to the Head of Editorial and Director of Video, you will be responsible for the smooth delivery and creation of video focused ideas across LBC. However, there may be occasions where we ask you to get involved in one or more of Global’s other brands.

We’re looking for a video-focused individual with solid organisational and journalistic skills, as well as a creative flair, who can deliver and manage a number of projects simultaneously.

You will be required to balance the brand values of our radio stations, the need for them to be cross-platform brands and the commercial requirements to help create outstanding, engaging content.

What we expect from you

  • You will be responsible for creating memorable video content that our audiences will want to share and your ideas will help to bring our brands alive online and on social media.

  • You’ll be dedicated to making sure Global keeps its place at the top of the media industry when it comes to video. Projects could range from large scale events and shoots, to simple scripted bulletins, interviews and infographic videos.

  • You’ll need to be able to shape ideas to make the best video possible while remaining within budget and be able to meet the deadlines – all on a case by case basis.

  • You’ll be an ideas powerhouse constantly thinking of new ways of interacting with our audiences.

  • This could include packaging a studio interview into a digestable infographic, identifying the latest viral trend for social media, or working with the radio teams to amplify what they’re saying on-air.

  • You’ll be working with our Video, Radio, Digital and Commercial departments so you’ll be great communicator and with brilliant organisational skills.

  • You’ll be able to write a great script and be able to tailor your writing to our various shows brands.

  • You may not have a TV background but you’ll have an understanding of television and/or video production techniques. Knowledge of editing in Premiere Pro is a must, with other Creative Cloud app knowledge being a plus.

  • Basic camera and lighting knowledge is needed and specific knowledge of the Sony FS7 would be advantegous. You’ll ideally have experience with multi-camera vision mixing / directing and knowledge of Blackmagic vision mixers and related software would also be an advantage.

  • You won’t be afraid to pick up a camera at short notice, meet, greet and interact with high-profile politicians and celebrities alike in the hope of delivering a high-quality edit on a short timescale.

  • You’ll live online; understanding social and online culture, trends, news and current affairs. You’ll be aware of our brands and consumers and you’ll have an overview of our competitors’ offerings.

  • You’ll thrive in a high-pressure environment and want to continue to develop your skills and expertise.

What You'll Love About This Role

  • Think Big: You’ll use your creativity to research, pitch, shoot and edit original video journalism and bring LBC to an even wider audience.

  • Own It: From concept to creation, you’ll produce original video journalism tailored to LBC's platforms.

  • Keep it Simple: You’ll be at the forefront of original video journalism that drives maximum engagement without compromising quality.

  • Better Together: Work closely with LBC's radio producers, reporters, digital and video teams to maximise LBC's reach and engagement

Skills Required

  • Camera skills – ideally with the Sony FS7 range and associated accessories.

  • Editing skills – Premiere Pro knowledge is a must and other Creative Cloud apps is a bonus.

  • Lighting skills – basic knowledge of various lighting techniques.

  • Vision mixing – multi-camera vision mixing experience with specific knowledge of Blackmagic hardware and software an advantage.

  • The ability to create high-quality video content to a tight deadline.

Who You’ll Be Working With:

  • Head of Video Production

  • Director of Video

  • Producers/Assistant Producers (Radio)

  • Radio Producers/Programmers (Radio)

  • Radio, Political and Celebrity talent

  • Digital and Social teams
