About this role
As a skilled Video Editor, you’ll have experience in transforming raw footage into engaging, multi-platform content. You’ll shoot original high-quality video, edit fast-paced newsroom and feature content, and optimise for Meta, TikTok, and on-site channels. The role involves travelling with journalists, uploading and distributing content, supporting breaking news, and using AI tools to enhance efficiency and engagement. You’ll also create affiliate content that drives traffic and revenue while ensuring all videos meet editorial, legal, and copyright standards. Flexibility, collaboration, and a focus on audience engagement are key, contributing to a diverse and inclusive organisation.
What you'll need to succeed:
You’ll be highly skilled in shooting and editing, proficient in Adobe Suite (After Effects knowledge preferred), and able to demonstrate your work via a strong showreel. The role requires excellent planning, organisation, and communication skills, a focus on meeting AV KPIs, adaptability to new technologies, and professionalism at all times. A journalism qualification (NCTJ/BTCJ) and media law knowledge are preferred but not essential.
