Team/Role Overview:
Citi’s Securities Finance team is looking for a Vice President to fill a hybrid Product Manager / Data Scientist role. You will be accountable for delivering a first-class experience for data consumers by driving the design, development, and commercialization of analytical tools and data products. The initial core focus will be on providing insights necessary for our business and its clients to deliver superior risk and capital adjusted returns, with a strong emphasis on capital analysis and optimization and enhancing client returns.
The Securities Finance team is part of the Investor Services franchise within Services at Citi. We bring market leading agency execution solutions to our clients across several asset classes and trade types through our Securities Lending, Cash Investments (DAIS) and Collateral Management and Optimisation products.
You are a change agent, curious and passionate about data and technology, with a critical focus on delivering business outcomes through data. In this role you will work closely with our Sales, Trading and Product management teams to create executable data-driven insights and strategies that will create value for our clients.
What you’ll do:
- Work with data consumers (including Trading, Product, Tech and Ops partners) to capture and prioritize their needs and develop and assess key client profitability metrics on an ongoing basis.
- Deliver a suite of consistent, high-quality, easy-to-use Investor Services data products for internal users and clients that optimize risk-adjusted returns and capital consumption as market conditions change.
- Serve as a data strategist to identify and integrate new datasets that can be leveraged through our product capabilities, and work closely with technology teams in the development and commercialization of data products.
- Devise and utilize algorithms and models to mine big-data stores; perform data and error analysis to improve models; clean and validate data for uniformity and accuracy.
- Drive resolution of data quality issues through root cause analysis and close collaboration with data governance and data stewards for consistent application and adoption of policies and controls.
- Prepare timely and insightful analysis and reporting for leadership that provides critical insights into business performance and client returns.
- Implement analytical models in production by collaborating with software developers and data modelers across the firm.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations.
What we will need from you:
- Significant experience, preferably within the Investment Management or Markets industry.
- Proven track record of stakeholder management from a product standpoint, preferably in a markets prime business or agency securities lending.
- Demonstrated experience in the disciplines of data modelling and data governance.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving ability with proficiency in data mining, statistical analysis, and experience using Data tools (e.g., ETL, Tableau, Python, SQL).
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple activities, changing priorities, and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to convey complex concepts concisely and influence relationships at all levels.
- Understanding of global regulatory frameworks relevant to Securities Finance (e.g., SEC 15c3-3, SFTR, Basel III/IV, UMR) and US regulatory Capital Rules.
- Bachelor's/University degree required.
- Master's degree, or a Ph.D. in a quantitative field like Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or Computer Science is desirable.
